Re: init_resize.sh suggestion

Modifying /usr/lib/raspi-config/init_resize.sh is impossible without a running linux system

Please see https://github.com/RPi-Distro/pi-gen/issues/232

Maybe enough likes will get someone to implement my suggestion

Re: Resize Root partition in .img file -request-

PLEASE move the init_resize.sh script from the root partition to the boot partition and change the script line: sed -i 's| init=/usr/lib/raspi-config/init_resize.sh||' /boot/cmdline.txt to sed --in-place=o 's| init=.*sh||' /boot/cmdline.txt # once resized do not invoke me again. This will allow user...

Re: How can I prevent root to expand at first boot?

Excellent question. Why does the installation force users to have only one partition? It's easy to make the root partition larger, making it smaller not so easy ( I haven't figured out how to do it yet!) The 'Filesystem Hierarchy Standard' states that /var shall contain "Variable files—files whose ...

Re: f2fs : why not distribution with root fs as f2fs

Ext4 is working well. F2fs hasn't been proven to be a worthwhile. When people have tried it for Android, they found that performance degrades over time, requiring them to reformat. Then they went back to Ext4. If you look on XDA, the general view of it isn't positive. To consider switching, we'd ne...

f2fs : why not distribution with root fs as f2fs

Why isn't the root file system of the distribution image an f2fs file system. Since raspberry pi is based on an SD card and f2fs was specifically designed with them in mind, shouldn't the distributed image have root on an f2fs? If not maybe /var should be a separate f2fs partition? Sorry for the poo...

f2fs-tools version

It seems that as of 11/26/18 f2fs-tools is a very old version:
F2FS-tools: mkfs.f2fs Ver: 1.7.0 (2016-07-28)

Who/how/when does a new version get added to apt ?

Re: Adding a Power LED

CAUTION: lower values draw more current, reduce battery life and (if low enough) will blow out GPIO port!
Stick with the highest value that gives suitable illumination.

Re: Pictorial Buying Guide

After further review, it really is : you need a pi power supply keyboard and mouse SD card monitor and the cable to go with it audio cable(optional) ethernet cable (optional) USB hub (optional) I would make this into a table of contents if you added id= to each item. I would like to suggest you move...

Re: Pictorial Buying Guide

Very nice but not really a buying guide.
Can we get the name changed to, something like:"Pictorial startup plug it in, plug it in"?
