Re: Cannot find pi-blueooth

Thanks guys. I'm going to give the suggestions a try.

It started out as a rpi B wheezy a long time back, and been upgraded along the way, and OSMC + retropi added along the way.

Cannot find pi-blueooth

I'm trying to setup bluetooth on my pi3, and I cannot find pi-bluetooth in any of the repositories. Such a trivial question, but I can't find any answers online either. Running raspbian jessie. Here's the sources.list deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian jessie main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.debia...

Definitely an issue with the usb cable to the host port.

What does ls ~/ ls /root Say? I'm not sure if you are directing that question at me. I'm logged in with pi user so ~ is /home/pi. Yes, it's directed at you. When those two commands are entered into the Terminal, what is the output? [email protected]:~ $ sudo ls ~ chromium-browser_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0...

Re: Guide: Chromium 48 on Raspbian Jessie

Thanks for the suggestion around ginstall-ytdl. That did the trick. Now launching omxplayergui ytdl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=.... launches the video. BTW, some things I noticed when installing this on the two pi 3 raspbian installs (occurred both times): - I needed to install python-tk It's r...

Re: Guide: Chromium 48 on Raspbian Jessie

I tried this out on two pi3 today, running raspbian from 3-18. I have no issue installing chromium 0.48 (working fine), but the omxplayer doesn't seem to like youtube streams. When I try to play them through chromium, the loading icon never disappears, and when I try to start them in omxplayergui, ...

Re: Pi 3 Overheating Issue?

I've got two Pi 3 units (from different suppliers). Both overheat with raspbian (release 3-18-2016). I'm using standard config.txt settings. Both units overheat with basic web navigations. Even intensive use of i/o will trigger overheating after some time (< 5 min). I done my testing without a case....

Re: [HOWTO] Using BTRFS root on stock Raspbian with Pi 2

I had issues before trying to reproduce a bootable SD card from one card to another. The source would be bootable but not the copy. Even if you attempt to flag the vfat partition bootable, I believe there are some bytes in the image (outside of the vfat partition) that provides the system the correc...

Re: rpi3 wifi issues

No wlan0 or wlan1 showing up on a new pi3. Even when swapping out SD card from another wifi-working pi3.

Tried enabling device tree (if it was ever disabled).

Any ideas. No errors in dmsg.

Re: Pi 3 Overheating Issue?

I notice a yellow square shows up in the top right of the screen after some time playing back youtube videos. Fades out when I stop (go idle). I take it this an overheating indicator? It's similar as the undervoltage but yellow instead of red.

Re: [HOWTO] Using BTRFS root on stock Raspbian with Pi 2

Your question kind of already contains the answer - I'm using tar to create a tarball archive and then store it on a file server, on another file server and a copy on optical media. So, by having a tar archive of my whole filesystem, I am basically covered for anything, and my only loss would be th...

Re: RPi 3 - Very poor wifi performance

2.5A is the recommended supply for the Pi 3 because.. Pi 3.. takes 1.3A Pi 3 USB ports.. *CAN* take 1.2A So if you have nothing (or something small) on the USB ports, your requirement now becomes 1.3A for the Pi. None of this precludes any embedded, battery or driver board applications, I'm not sur...

Sounds like you might be overthinking this. Worked right out of the box for me. Host connection to the usb hub on the pi, power connection to one of two connections to the lapdock. Been using the pi A/B on the lapdock for years, and usually backpower through the hub. Use the two usb connections on ...

Re: RPi 3 - Very poor wifi performance

My wifi latency/packet loss issue (only when using with SSD plugged in) was resolved by switching to a smaller micro usb cable used to power the pi 3. I have been using the official 12W PSU. It has improved the WiFi performance dramatically, but it's not perfect (compared to my Edimax USB dongle, w...

Re: [HOWTO] Using BTRFS root on stock Raspbian with Pi 2

The backup script confuses me. I'm a long-time user of BTRFS. The backup script is creating a snapshot and then creating a tar file backup of the snapshot. Are you storing this backup on the device or moving off to another device? If you are storing the backups on the same device, then why not just ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 and Motorola Lapdock

Ya, with opengl enabled, it flashes in-and-out of the multi-coloured screen (indicating undervoltage). It is sporadic. Usable but can get annoying. I am also powering a SSD. Simply too little power by the dock. I witness sporadic built-in wifi on the pi 3 as well when powered by the dock & and using...

I just got my pi3 last weekend and getting started during the week. I usually find it faster to setup things by ssh from another machine. I'm finding it very sluggish over wifi. You don't need to modify the dock. You just need a female to female usb adapter. No fuss or modification required.
