<t>So I decided to go for it, popped in an old HDD and am now dualbooting XP/Debian-LXDE. Re: So, this thing called Linux.

<t>I guess i'm just unsure of where to start from. In R-pi can see a multitude of OS images on a multitude of SD cards. It's my chance to leave windows behind without worrying i'll Break my pc so to speak. Only reason I haven't ditched MS before is I didn't wanna risk doing in a pc i spent a lot of ...

There doesn't seem to be any details on bulk discounts so far, perhaps those in charge can pass that on. Also no limitations known at this time!

<r>Ok, my ignorance is gonna be apparent now <E>:)</E>.<br/> <br/> I was in WHSmith of all places and came across a few Linux magazines. I ask because I am a lowly Customer Service (don't care what you think, I'm pretty good at it! <E>;)</E> ) with VirginMedia and would have expected to have seen some involvement from this quarter. Is this something ...

Re: Want to learn Python?

Also came across that one, downloaded python and basically just took a wee look at it just now. The premise of python and that book definitely appeals to me and looks like it would be good for my 11 yr old son to get to grips with even in just a passing manner.

I can actually see myself keeping one in my work locker for when i'm early or on breaks. Find a fix to get it on the bus and i'll have a decent amount of time to learn python.

I can imagine a whole bunch of SD's marked Speccy etc. Having optimized OS for each particular use whether emulating the golden oldies or just optimized for playing poker or learning programming through Python etc.
