Soldering Station Came... Is this normal?!

I just received a soldering station today. Everything looks good except some screws were missing to mount the hot air gun and the soldering pencil looks a little bent to me (see attached photo). I took it apart and it appears to be the heating element is crooked. It is a little hard to switch betwee...

Re: Solar Panel Battery Charger... question about circuit...

Thank you for the input guys. I'm definitely going to look into a switching voltage regulator for future projects. For now, I'm going to keep the price of my components cheap since they may burn  from incorrect wiring. Also, the info on charging batteries was helpful. I was just about to ask ...

Solar Panel Battery Charger... question about circuit...

I'm pretty sure this is where this post belongs, if not, please direct me to a more suitable section of the forum. I have some cheap solar panels from some sidewalk lights that I want to re-use to make a solar battery charger that will also charge devices off of the batteries. I've done a lot of rea...

Question about mystery component in diagram

I am looking into making a temperature and humidity logger with my Raspberry Pi. I've decided on the hardware I want to use but am a little confused about something. In the diagram, there is a blue component that isn't explained. Am I missing something? What is the blue thing on the bread board? The...

Re: Why won't my Pi boot? (No signal on TV)

Thank you for your input and suggestions! I took your advise. I'm using a 2 amp power supply for my tablet now. Also, when I formatted the SD card in Linux, the filesystem was not recognized and would not mount. Once I started from scratch, in Windows 7 (reformat and write image to the SD) everythin...

Re: Nano Wifi Dongle (Packet Injection)

Oops, I didn't see the nano in the title of your post. The TP-Link is quite a bit bigger...
That's okay. At least I know of one that is capable of this. If anyone else knows of a Nano Wifi Dongle that is capable of packet injection, please post it! :D

Re: Nano Wifi Dongle (Packet Injection)

Thanks for the replies! All super helpful!

pjc123, I was thinking of going with a Nano dongle but the one you mentioned is in my price range and probably going to be better for what I want to use it for.

* I forgot that aircrack provides resources on this subject!

Nano Wifi Dongle (Packet Injection)

I just gave my old Toughbook away to a friend (it's his first computer [he's old]) and am looking for a wifi dongle that would be usable with the RPi that is capable of packet injection. I'm starting out with some basics to get the feel of how this all works. Since I just received my RPi and I'm new...
