This is in big part theory, but AFAIK SD-cards are essentially just flash memory devices typically with SPI and SD-bus connections to their host systems. This is interesting discussion, but could somebody who really knows about these things please state clearly, whether the most recommended Raspbian distribution handles SD-card wear leveling correctly off-the-shelf in the default configuration or that it doesn't?
