Re: Tips for preparing an sd card for the raspberry pi on windows

<t>I always found PCI<-> SDIO bridges (like the Ricoh sd readers are) most reliable.<br/> <br/> You are also confusing SD and SmartMedia/XD cards. SD cards have a conreoller whick handles the flash paging all by itself. SM and XD cards are raw flash ics. With those you need to have the controller in...

Re: ATX PSU as Power supply

The Pi should be able to run from the Standby 5V easy enough.

(Like the name says, there is always power on it to keep Power Controller and other stuff online even if switched off)

Re: USB Client?

<t>Yes, I know the EU favors USB for charging (i live here, after all ).<br/> <br/> USB Client would have been a nice-to-have, but most definitly is NOT a reason for me to not get a Model B Pi. I was just wondering...would have been a cool bonus.<br/> <br/> And if the SoC supports it, it would be qu...

Re: USB Client?

Hmm. Would have been a nice feature. Now i'll have to make my nefarious plans work via USB/IP and the "dummy" host-and-client-via-fake-cable kernel module

Is the reason a design decision or lack of SoC support?

<t>Do the D+ and D- lines of the charge port have any connection to the SoC?<br/> <br/> I ask because client mode USB (kernel drivers already exist) allow f.e. to hook up a Pi to a laptop and have instant ethernet CDC link - especially neat for model A people.<br/> <br/> Stuff such as transporting a...

<t>Even if it wont be possible to do that, you should be able to hook up your system to your TV's headphone out.<br/> <br/> But what would be really useful to me (althought you can workaround with usb soundcards) would be being able to play two entirely seperate streams via Digital audio and analog ...

Re: Rasberry PI -> Viable platform for commercial games ?

<t>Even if you can't get apps to be binary compatible- libPND is quite easy to make multiarchitecture aware (but my own patches for x86 a LOWEST quality and for a really early version of it.)<br/> <br/> So you can slap a ARMv7+NEON binary and a ARMv6 binary and a x86 binary all in the same PND if yo...

Re: Rasberry PI -> Viable platform for commercial games ?

Applying openpandora.org's libpnd for single file binary distribution would work.

It should also allow for games written for it to run on both platforms.
