Re: USB Wireless Adapter Problem

Forgot to report back on this. No luck still unfortunately. I also started using the charger for my tablet to power the PI (which is 5v 1.5A) as well as the powered hub. I had the network card plugged into the pi and the keyboard plugged into the hub. Curiously I was still having the repeat keys iss...

Re: USB Wireless Adapter Problem

Ignore the above post, I think I have noticed the problem. You cannot use the RT3070 in the same hub as a USB 1.0 device (for example a very old keyboard). Check the diagnostic messages to see if there are tons of errors about a USB device being reset. Use the command dmesg To fix this, move the ke...

Re: USB Wireless Adapter Problem

I am using a powered hub, and the wifi dongle is plugged into the hub, not the pi. The only device plugged into the pi's USB is the powered hub.

I chose the W311U because I noted a while back that someone (JamesH?) had got it working with the alpha board, so I assumed it was a safe bet.

USB Wireless Adapter Problem

Hi all, I'm trying to get my Tenda W311U USB 802.11n adapter working with my pi. If I run lsusb it shows up as a Ralink RT2870/RT3070, but there is no device for it listed in iwconfig / ifconfig. So I ran: sudo aptitude install firmware-ralink which works fine, but then everything goes a bit strange...

Re: RDP

In case anyone's interested, I installed rdesktop on my Pi and it works great as an RDP client to EC2 machines.

Now I just need to get the aws-ec2 tools to work on the Pi, but I'm having some Java problems at the moment :-\

Warning Re eBay RPis

Thought I should post a warning to you all about buying a Raspberry Pi from eBay. This is what showed up this morning and it differs from the real models quite a lot and doesn't seem to boot up when plugged in: http://crundyjunk.s3.amazonaws.com/fakerpi.jpg (Only joking. Wireless Keyboard

Hi all. I got my Pi today, so after an hour of running up and down the stairs like an overexcited puppy I plugged it all in. Works great! I'm surprised at how quickly Debian boots and x starts up. One problem, I plugged in my wireless mini keyboard and mouse ( this one ) which works, but occasionall...

Tried that. Still nothing.

It'll be interesting to see if this takes off. It would be cool to have a work phone that doubles up as your work computer.

The tablet + dock / keyboard seems to be getting more and more popular. Archos is bringing one out at the end of the year as well. Whether an Android tablet works well as a laptop is a different matter.

Hmm, the last time I cooked liver I think it was pork liver, so that might explain the nasty taste. Maybe I'll give it another go with lamb.

Wait do you have to buy a relay for those PIDs as well? Does that mean they're pretty messy to set up?

TBH I'm fine with +/-1C variation, but just over 2C with my current setup is a bit much.

There's quite a few cheapo ones on there, like this. Do I take it these are crap and/or dangerous?
