I have just tried that but the image created is only 78KB. Is there an easy way of doing this in Linux?

Create SD card image on windows

Hey guys! I want to know if there is any program I can use to create an image of my Raspi SD Card in Windows so I can keep a backup of a configuration that already works flawlessly. I would like to create an image that I could later burn to my SD card with the Windows program mentioned on the instru...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Hey! I have one little question.... After installing everything, when I go to the /etc/network/interfaces file I have the following information... # Used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8). See the interfaces(5) manpage or # /usr/share/doc/ifupdown/examples for more information. auto lo iface lo inet loopback...

Re: Can I remove/unsolder some components?

Yeah of course! Although I will be doing this with the other Raspi I ordered. Newark in the U.S. told me that it would be arriving early July so as soon as I get it I will do this mod. I am not crazy to the point of sacrificing my only Raspi at the moment :P Thanks!

Re: Can I remove/unsolder some components?

I am actually making a humanoid robot so the weight is important for the balance once it is standing up. The thing is that I will also be using an arduino nano to control the motors so I want to take those components off the Pi in order to try to compensate for the weight of the arduino. Thank you s...

Re: Can I remove/unsolder some components?

Perfect thank you very much for your answers! The reason I am asking this is because we are planning on building at school a small robot in which weight is an important factor. Although I already have a Raspi in which we can make tests in, we need to have the final version by around September. Since...

Re: Can I remove some components?

Yeah I imagined that the RCA connector would be easy to remove but my biggest question is if the USB connectors would continue working if I removed the Ethernet Jack. If taking the Ethernet Jack kills just one of the USB ports that would also be fine with me, I could use a little hub. Thanks!

Can I remove some components?

Hey guys! I was wondering if I could remove some connectors from the Pi in order to make it lighter for a robot I am making. I would want to unsolder the yellow RCA connector, and the Ethernet jack. I was also wondering if the audio jack could be used to connect a microphone so the robot can hear st...

Thank you so much for your answers guys! I have one big question... I measured with a voltmeter the output voltage of the micro usb cable (or lead) with nothing connected to it and it was 5.06V... is it possible that when the Raspberry Pi is connected that voltage would drop because of the cable/lea...

Re: Iphone 4 Power Adapter Problem

UPDATE2: I just managed to measure the output voltage from the micro USB cable connected to the iphone 4 power adapter and the voltage is 5.06V. Might there be something wrong with the Raspberry Pi hardware or might just be a problem with the power adapter? Thanks!

Re: Iphone 4 Power Adapter Problem

UPDATE: I have just measured the output voltage of both of my iphone 4 power adapters and the first adapter is outputting 5.08V and the second one is outputting 5.06V. If this is the case why when I connect my Raspberry Pi the voltage drops to 4.70V? I have also tried a different micro usb cable and...

Iphone 4 Power Adapter Problem

Hey guys! Well today I received my Raspberry Pi and the only power adapter I have is the Iphone 4 power adapter rated for 5V @ 1A. When I use this adapter to power my Pi everything appears to work fine, but when I use a multimeter to measure the voltage at TP1 the voltage is only 4.70 V. I have thre...

Re: sales date?

<t>Why don't you guys use ebay to distribute the boards? That way your server would not overload and anyone can order safely by using either paypal or their credit card. Using ebay, anyone can input the amount of board they want to buy and combined shipping would be easier. Also ebay's tools would l...
