Re: 1-wire DS18B20 disappears

I am having the same problem, curiously after 2yrs of error-free operation - and to make it more difficult for Sherlock-Holmes, the sensors disappear only at >60C - when the temperature drops below that 'threshold' they magically reappear. I will run some trials exchanging sensors. Using Cat6 cable,...

Re: Apache Fails to Start

This error occurred overnight (actually around 3AM last night) on my pi. I can't see any reason, nothing in error log except 'segmentation fault'. Perhaps the binary was somehow corruped. Anyway, I solved it by purging ALL apache2 packages - just purging apache2 did not suffice. So this worked: sudo...

Re: Pi 2 fstab not mounting usb disk

I had the same issue with a USB HDD in /etc/fstab not mounting automatically on Pi 2, whereas it mounted without problems on a Pi 1 using the same fstab entry . I noticed in dmesg output that the HDD was only discovered after other drives/mounts had already been mounted, so I suspected that the devi...

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

Hi Folks Thanks for the post, followed it and mythtv-backend installed fine, but mythtv-setup won't start, complaining about a mismatch in binary vs. library versions, then cannot allocate MythCoreContext. Any clues why ? ssh -X andrev@rpi1 /usr/bin/mythtv-setup -v gui --geometry 640x480 2014-05-12 ...

Re: MySQL insert/update/delete very slow

I had the same issue with extremely slow writes with MySQL on the raspberry pi, using owncloud. I am certain that the root cause for this is with the SD-card, which is not meant for random writes, especially small ones. SD-card are good in cameras, where few large files are written and then never ch...

Re: ds1820 stops responding when using /dev/ttyUSB0

Ok got it working again, but I still regularly get errors in /var/log/messages. Annoying but not a show stopper. To get it working again, I removed both sensors and ensured that I had no cold solders. Then reconnected one sensor, low and behold, it worked. Connected the other sensor, also worked. Co...

Re: ds1820 stops responding when using /dev/ttyUSB0

I suddenly have the same problem. Was working fine for a few days, then almost simultaneously, both sensors gave ridiculous readings and the entries in /var/log/messages started appearing. First, lots of these messages: Apr 19 23:40:04 raspberrypi kernel: [307290.288304] w1_slave_driver 28-000004811...
