Re: Raspberry pi 4 load kernel from non boot partition

The simplest way would probably be to load u-boot, (assuming that u-boot has support for the partition type you have your kernel on), and then using a u-boot boot script to load your kernel from your other partition. Of course you're going to have fun with getting a set of dtb files which work for y...

Re: How to correctly set up v4l2 (m2m) under 64-bit kernel / 64-bit userland?

Is there a working 5.x series arm64 kernel and working ffmpeg binary that allows hardware decoding of h264 to work? This is what I'm seeing using current ffmpeg with the patches 1 & 3 mentioned above on the file mentioned above: DISPLAY=:0 ffplay -vcodec h264_v4l2m2m -i jellyfish-10-mbps-hd-h264.mkv...

Re: ZFS for Raspbian

So word of advice here, please don't tell users to install zfs from the zfs master tree. There are zpool options here which enable by default which will make importing those volumes onto zfs installed on other systems, like debian or ubuntu, impossible. (Because those other distributions use zfs bui...

FYI, the PHY appears to be a BCM54213PE, mentioned here: https://github.com/rsta2/circle

The LEDs appear to be mentioned here: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/co ... a8575ee06b

RPi4 Ethernet LED control

Is there any way to disable the Ethernet LEDs on the RPi4? I see various methods using dtparam or a 3rd party tool as suggested here: https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneyeos/wiki/Turn-Off-LEDs # Disable the Ethernet LEDs. dtparam=eth_led0=14 dtparam=eth_led1=14 For other Raspberry Pi models, add this...

Docker Raspberry Pi 4B ARM64 Ubuntu Image Builder

I spent a couple of days hacking together a docker setup to create flashable Ubuntu images for the Raspberry Pi 4B which cross-compile current Raspberry Pi kernels and integrate them into the image. Note that this runs in privileged mode, so you're going to have to use this on your own servers. http...

Re: USB Power on Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+

That sounds reasonable. There appears to be earlier support for deactivating the USB power output chip, which may be independent of the hub? As per here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=651809#p651809 Though I don't know if that actually uses the functionality on an actual USB hub...

USB Power on Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+

As I understand it it is possible to turn off power en masse on all of the 3b+ usb ports programmatically. Can that also be done for the USB port on the 3a+? (My goal is to have a sensor on the pi trigger turning on or off a USB fan connected to the 3A+, and since the 3A+ draws less power than the 3...

Re: Linux Kernel 4.18 incl Pi3 and 3B+ support

For what it is worth, the ubuntu mainline 4.18.1 arm64 kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.18.1/ appears to boot an ubuntu arm64 bionic system on the Pi 3b+. (I'm booting that with the 64-bit Tiano Core UEFI for the Raspberry Pi 3 EFi from https://github.com/andreiw/Raspberr...

Re: Bare metal on raspberry pi 3 B+ not booting - finally working

That's supposed to be the default kernel address for 32 bit kernels.

I'm able to boot a 64 bit kernel saved as kernel8.img and this in the config.txt:

kernel=kernel8.img

This does appear to work with the 3.10.4 kernel for partitions on the SD card using raspbian/jessie.

Code: Select all

Linux raspberrypi 3.10.4+ #1 PREEMPT Sat Aug 3 21:51:43 EDT 2013 armv6l GNU/Linux

Re: gstreamer openmax

Does somebody have a working command line to test the omx encoding? I'm trying to encode an mpeg2 file to h264. This should be possible with omxmpeg2videodec and omxh264enc, yes? (Assuming that a MPEG2 license has been purchased to enable this?) I've installed the version of gstreamer-1.0 as mention...
