Re: Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi 3 SSH

SSH implies networking and Uno doesn't have it (speaking loosely). You can certainlyconnect the RX/TX using the USB TTL cable to the PI. I do it currently. It shows up as /dev/ttyUSB0. What you can do is write a heartbeat from the PI to Arduino waiting on serial read. (I don't have a setup handy to ...

Re: Needing a few things made. will pay.

i have made a lego Web controlled lights system using .3 mm led (what I think are .3 mm) It uses an ESP8266 (Mod 12 i think) with a web front end and I2C to a 23017. it is pretty scalable. It can control up to 16 lights. it requires a lot of wiring from the 23017 to the destination LED. I have used...

... What I *think* you mean is that your output resolution is 640x480, the original VGA resolution from 30 years ago. It also sounds like you have an HDMI to VGA converter of some type. If that is the case, please specify exactly what your converter is. Such converters *must* be active devices to w...

PI B2 stuck in VGA at boot up

I have a B2 (one of many many) and I am not a beginner. I was trying to get this B2 to run VGA and doing a lot of config.txt setting changes. After hours of hours of failing to get it to output HDMI->VGA, I gave up. After serveral reboots of trying more HDMI settings, the B2 only boots in VGA mode a...

How to partition copy SD card - NOOBS

My question is (read below) Is there a way to do what rpi-clone does for 2 partitions, for NOOBS. And I am surprised no one has come up with one. I have a need to clone class SD cards quickly, not 5-10 mins a piece. I also want to be able to build on 8 GB cards, and rsync to 4 GB cards as rpi-clone ...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

Using a back feeding cable is out for the new board. [B+] But not for the A+. This new board is the holy grail as far as I am concerned. My previous minimalised Raspberry Pips have all required a lot of fiddling and some compromise, but I can fit an A+ and all the extras in a cheap case easily: htt...

Re: Kinect - Would it ever work with a Raspberry Pi?

Just would like to go on the record to say I just got librekinect set up and am successfully getting a depth stream out of the Kinect. I followed his guide pretty closely, just swapping out the kernel he used, "3.12.y", for the one I have of "3.10.y". This is quite cool, it seems the answer to the ...

Re: Kinect - Would it ever work with a Raspberry Pi?

I hate to ask the silliest of questions. I finally got a kernel built and installed (problem was the make didn't say use sudo). i now have a /dev/video0. Prior to that the tilttest worked fine. Now that I have the lib kinect installed, what is next? C/C++ library/code to read data and sample the inf...

Re: Yet more MPU6050 demo code

I am using the 9150 9/10 DoF MPU. I have gotten it to feed Processing 2.1.1 with data for R/P/Y. And it appears to work. With the gyro onboard, I can get the Q and angles seemly fine. I can get acceleration also (16000-17000 on each reading). I want to extend this to movement in space. I am a 100% n...

Re: keymap help for UK -> US keys " @ # - Atrix 4G lapdock

I guess my putty was not configured properly.

I was able to use

sudo dumpkeys > keys.orig
sudo loadkesys < keys.US

I am sure I am a novice at this, but it was painfully slow to change just " and # signs. Working on a few more keys at the moment.

Closed.

keymap help for UK -> US keys " @ # - Atrix 4G lapdock

I recently got a Atrix 4G lapdock and unintentionally bought it with a UK keyboard. I have mapped the Raspi (from US) back to UK and obviously it works fine. I have several Atrix 4G lapdock with US keyboard (used in training) and they are all fine. Since I want it to use a US like keyboard map, I ne...

You should find this in the logs (probably followed by a lot of ffmpeg messages): Forcing full rescan, found force-rescan file: [name if rescan file] You must add the file while the server is running, and it must be after it has completed its normal start-up scan. Otherwise it will just be ignored,...

Re: Improved forked-daapd (iTunes server)

Yes, you should be able to do that. Since the library contains garbage it may be libav that is somehow not working. Could you run "avconv -version" and post the result? I also suggest you set the log level to "debug" and check the log files to see what is happening. From the log files you should be...
