Arduino to Raspberry Pi

Hi guys, I need my raspberry pi to receive outputs from a RC Receiver. From doing some research i have worked out that my best option is to get my arduino to read the outputs from the receiver and the Arduino sends them to the pi. I have got the arduino receiving the inputs but i was wondering is th...

Re: Strange Motor PWM Problem

Hey thanks for reply. I am struggling to find any manuals or datasheets for this new ESC. I am powering it using a 3S lipo same as you do with normal RC projects. It is then connected via the signal wire to the servo control board attached to my pi over I2C.

Strange Motor PWM Problem

Basically i have 2 types of ESC. (one is an upgrade). The first one works when i calibrate it (max throttle 3secs, min throttle 3 secs) but my new one does nothing other than beeps every second constantly. Also when using the new ESC my pi seems to freeze a lot. Any ideas? I'm pretty sure there shou...

PWM Brushless Motors

Hey guys, Once again I've got an issue. For some reason my 4 motors seem to be very odd. I have had them working in the past and i know to get them to work i must calibrate the ESC's first by going to full throttle for a few seconds then min throttle and the next value they will start spinning. Now ...

Re: How to connect Raspberry Pi to computer over Wi-Fi

I assume you want to control your pi from your windows 7 computer. If this is the case then there are many ways of doing this. My personal fav is using TightVNC witch once installed onto your pi you can access using a VNC viewer meaning you can access your pi's desktop from windows and android etc.....

Re: Will this battery pack work?

Yes that should work, abit pricey though, i know rs online have a good battery that lasts a good few hours for about £10 ($16). but you'll have to check if they operate in the US if that's where your from as i noticed the site you was buying from was a US site.

Remote Desktop Andriod

A good way to remotely control your raspberry pi using Android is to follow this tutorial http://www.neil-black.co.uk/raspberry-pi-beginners-guide#.UsdPNrQ7mNI , and then download the androidVNC app off the play store. Run the app and this is what you need to tell it. PS. (you don't need to do any o...

MPU-6050 Coding Issue

Hey guys, basically i have been building a quad copter using the raspberry pi. I have got the pi controlling the motors well using a controller from Adafruit and also have transmitter and receiver working to control the pi using a Arduino to receive the output from the receiver and then pass it to t...

Re: Adafruit PWM not Working

Thanks for the reply, I'm sure that it is code for the pi as it is the same code as i used before on my old pi/SD-card. I downloaded some example code form Adafruit using this. $ git clone https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Raspberry-Pi-Python-Code.git $ cd Adafruit-Raspberry-Pi-Python-Code $ cd A...

Adafruit PWM not Working

hey guys, basically i've been an idiot. Long story short i had to re-install my os onto my pi and lost everything other than my code. I have been trying to re-install all stuff needed to get my I2C stuff to work but cant. I have an adafruit 16 channel 12-bit servo controller. it is connected over i2...

RC Radio Reciver to RPi

Hello, i have made a raspberry pi quad-copter that i now need to find a way of controlling it. I would like to link it up to a rc receiver and link it to my python code to control the motors etc. Has anyone done this before or know if it is possible and how i should go about doing this. http://www.h...

GPIO Pins Gyro

Hi, I ham currently making a Raspberry pi Quad-copter. I have got all of the motors working using an Adafruit-16-Channel-Servo board, and now am onto coding the actual flying. At the moment i do not have safe control of the drone and am thinking of using a Gyroscope to help keep the drone under cont...

Re: Controlling ESC (Electronic speed controller) with RPi.

Thank you so much for the code. I have been doing some testing with a bit of luck. I run through the testing and had some funny results. When i started your program some times after pressing t and connecting power it would beeb a few times then i press b and it would beeb again and constantly beeb a...

Re: Controlling ESC (Electronic speed controller) with RPi.

Thankyou so much for your reply, have just set up my pi and testing your suggestion. Im really no good with this python stuff also no good at using esc. What values do you think i should use for Freq, puslelength etc. i know that 2ms pulse is full throttle and i think the frequency shuld be about 50...

Controlling ESC (Electronic speed controller) with RPi.

Hi, I have been trying for a while now to control a brushless motor using my raspberry pi. I would like some help in working out weather it is possible to use the Adafruit 16-channel 12-bit pwm/servo driver to do it. I have one set up on my pie and im using their Sample_Example.py code to test the m...

Hello, i have connected and installed my new Adafruit-PWM/Servo driver board. I have got to the final part and when i run their Servo_Example.py code i get this error message. File "/home/pi/....../...../Adafruit_PWM_Servo_Driver.py", line 31, in __init__ self.i2c = Adafruit_I2C(address, bus=smbus.S...
