I think that Miracast does not work over IP network it has to be directly connected over WiFi so Raspi would need at least a supported WiFi dongle.

is it just me, or is it that some O.S.s on Pi just do not want to know about Element 14's "Wi-Pi" USB Wi-Fi dongle? I beleive so far the problem is with XBMC and a few other Media Center based Ops that I cannot recall (one had a greenish logo) Thing is, it is a perfectly good dongle, but I really do...
