Re: Touch is missing the lower part of the screen

Thanks! Simply calibrating solved the issue. I didn't do that because the raspberrypi.org troubleshooting page didn't mention it and I've read many times that "there is no calibration function because the touchscreen is calibrated at the factory". Also, I found the mismatch of exactly 100 pixels con...

Touch is missing the lower part of the screen

Hi! I've just received the official touchscreen and spent some hours today getting the touch function to work properly - but to no avail. Here's the issue: The lower 100 pixels cannot be reached by the mouse pointer because the calibration seems off. When I touch the upper part of the screen, the mo...

Re: Protect raspberry pi against voltage spikes

Domestic refrigerators are a big culprit, Suspect everything That is inductive that stops and starts , You have to go through the process of illumination to find the problem some times , But first try a surge protector I actually use a surge protector and it improves the stability, but not complete...

Re: Protect raspberry pi against voltage spikes

Thanks for your replies! Generally a simple switching action should not cause so much interference - is the switch faulty? Is the power wiring faulty? Does switching cause loud crackling on the radio? Are any required interference suppressors fitted and working? As the interference is reproducible w...

Protect raspberry pi against voltage spikes

For my current project - programming and building a digital terrarium climate controller - i have built a circuit connecting the pi, the climate sensor, some relays and an RGB LED controller. This setup works fine, except in one case: When i use any power switches - thus creating a voltage peak - in...

Re: Drive 12v LEDs using a 'ShiftBar' controller and the Pi

Finally, I had the time to try whether that setup works. And it does! Thank you very much for your help!
I am still experiencing software problems as there is no Java-to-ShiftBar API available and I therefore tried to port one written for Arduino. (The problem is, Java has no unsigned variables)

Thanks for your answer! I had not got the time to try this yet, but I will do so in the next days.

Drive 12v LEDs using a 'ShiftBar' controller and the Pi

Hi! For my current project I need to control a set of 12v RGB-LEDs with the Raspberry Pi. Therefore I bought a ShiftBar LED controller. But now there is a voltage problem: The ShiftBar controller can be directly powered using a 12v transformer. Anyway, the Raspberry Pi GPIO ports output 3.3v. My que...
