Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

Well I tried downloading the Xbian Linux source from the github to try and compile the 8188eu driver and had various problems unzipping the source as it didn't appear to load correctly and generated some really odd errors. Tried compiling anyway and the tools needed to compile don't appear to be in...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

This is a typical error if the Linux source is not the same as used to make the running kernel. However, it could also be caused by .config not matching the settings used to compile the running kernel or the Module.symvers file is not the same as the running kernel used. Where did you get the Linux...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

Looks like the driver module, 8188eu.ko , has finally been compiled so then you need to install it using the commands install -p -m 644 8188eu.ko /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/net/wireless insmod /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/8188eu.ko depmod -a These commands assum...

Hmm. Sorry not sure what to suggest now. As far as I remember the Enter key will select the default setting, in this case N. Probably just need to go through the list responding with the Enter key. Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

Hi robertjordan, I think what you need to do is run an additional command after installing the file .config # set up .config file and prepare for compiling module zcat /proc/config.gz > .config make oldconfig <-- run additional command make modules_prepare I think that is what you need to stop the ...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

You need to also get a copy of the Linux source code for raspBMC. I'm not sure where you can find that. You'll probably need to look on the RaspBMC site. This is not the same as the raspberry pi source code for Raspbian. You also need two other files .config and Module.symvers You can get .config u...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

Lekensteyn, I don't know if I get what you mean... I have raspbian, so I should copy from there /boot/kernel.img and the folder /lib/modules/3 right? (can I do it from my mac?) Then I have to copy it to xbian? (again, can I do it from my mac?) That should work. Note that /boot and / are two differe...

xbian external hard drive not working

Hi all! I have some trouble with xbian and my external hard drive... when I connect it to my pi I can only see the EFI partition from xbian (the other partition, which is the one where the data is, is NTFS). On the other hand, from raspbian I can see the NTFS partition perfectly, so I don't think is...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

That should work. Note that /boot and / are two different partitions, for reading ext partitions you may need special software on mac. Have you read through https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/issues/370 already? Especially https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/issues/370#issuecomment-18489021 I was tr...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V2 works out of the box on Raspbian

I have received an offer of a free TL-WN725N V2 from user pi3g. In exchange for that, I will be modifying the latest Realtek driver for inclusion in the staging tree of the kernel. In the meantime, I have placed a copy of the source in a git repo at http://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu.git. Great n...

When your RPi is going though its boot-up, do you see a line which shows the RPi as having 192.168.1.55? Thank you it was so stupid!!! ...the IP was 192.168.0.55... as I've seen during the boot-up! thank you again (anyway the router is set to give it to the raspberry anytime it is connected, and no...

Re: SSH and port forwarding

I don't know why so many people don't understand port forwarding. In every home router I have encountered port forwarding is only for traffic coming from the WAN to the LAN. All the LAN ports are connected to a simple switch and there is no traffic control whatsoever between the LAN ports. So, open...
