Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

But also considering 3D printing my own wrench.... I had my wrench printed from a publicly available STL file by a maker located nearby (using 3Dhubs). It isn't really a perfect fit, I guess due to the home-3D-print accuracy, but it did the job - I just had to hold it under small angle in order to ...

Re: [Help] Shading Correction, Camera v2 after Lens Removed

well I meant the inability to turn off shading correction - if that was a problem of v2 camera only... But in the meantime I read that v1 camera also can not turn it off (???) but probably v1 algo is not so aggressive so third party lenses seem to work quite well based on the images I have seen. I ...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

I ordered Pi Cam v2.1 this week for some experimenting, knowing about the focus issues but not worrying much as I plan to remove the lens anyway. But I didn't expect it to be quite as bad as it arrived  See attached... picam_center_out.jpg I took the comparison photo with raspistill on auto set...

Re: [Help] Shading Correction, Camera v2 after Lens Removed

The new IMX219-based Pi Camera looked so promising to replace the old one for a film scanning project, when I ran across this discussion... I was concerned when I saw the notes on lens shading correction, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. Puppy101puppy (or anyone else) did you ever figure out a...

I've got the "F" one in my Projects folder from the time I last played with it - I'll send you a PM with the download link shortly.

It would, but useful only to a very small group of Pi users, and thus, it wouldn't justify the cost increase (development / manufacturing) I guess... :|

Re: need somagic drivers easycap

Hey guys, I thought I'd share my experience with a Somagic device too. I have the 4-input model (1c88:003f), all testing was done using a powered hub. Pi model B , using easycap-somagic-linux drivers: Unexpected block errors Pi model B , using kernel driver from drgr33n: getting "select timeout" err...

Re: EasyCAP somagic 6 quid 4 channel DVR module patch.

Hey guys! I appreciate all the work drgr33n done on the kernel patch, etc. But I'm facing probably the same issue as elchubi . I've tried to use mplayer to do single-frame PNG snapshots only (that's all I need) but it fails every time (reporting 0 frames successfully processed, 1 frames dropped ), a...

Re: photo of lens mount?

There are so many use cases where a bare sensor without any optics would be useful, but I can understand that the self-contained module will probably meet the needs of majority of hobbyists... so from the business point of view it probably didn't make sense (and this single-module architecture certa...
