I also have this problem. The Bluetooth icon and Bluetooth Manager are missing from the desktop. I suspect that this may be due to the fact that I have recently upgraded my Raspberry Pi from Raspbian Wheezy to Raspbian Jessie.
Whilst on a photo walk in Cambridge last weekend, I took the photo below. Just look at the girl on the bike. What an expression. Recognition, mixed with trembling fear! :D http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8240/8531800451_027f4ec296_z.jpg Cambridge Photo Walk - Recognition by DRH Photography , on Flickr
I use a combination of gparted, Win32DiskImager and gsplit3, all runing on a Windows PC. I use gparted to reduce the size of the largest partiion, so that I have everything I need at the begining of the large SD card. I then use Win32DiskImager to copy the entire contents of the large SD card to an ...
I'd like the top of the case to be symmetrical. Just because the Ethernet socket is recessed, doesn't mean that the top of the case needs a cutout. Many people don't use the Ethernet socket once they've setup a Wifi connection. A micro USB Wifi adapter is so much more fun, and much more useful. I to...
I too am delighted by what the Foundation has done. I have a small webserver that I can access from anywhere in th world, running on a very cheap Raspberry Pi. I'm absolutely delighted
The Raspberry Pi Foundation are woking on a small screen. You need to wait, because the screen drivers aren't open source. Broadcom will need to supply a firmware update and some drivers for the sceen.
I had similar problems when using a cheap USB hub. Worse still, the hub supplied power to the Raspberry Pi via the USB uplink cable. I'm now using a Belkin 4-port hub - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Belkin-Hi-Speed-USB-2-0-4-Port-Hub-UK-Plug-Compatible-with-windows-Mac-F5U234-/390394948297?pt=UK_Computi...
The new raspbian image is excellent. No problems getting it to install and run. No problems configuring users, passwords and favourite packages. Only one problem, when I start proftpd, some error messages appear: sudo /etc/init.d/proftpd start [....] Starting ftp server: proftpdraspberrypi proftpd[1...
The network-config tool allowed me to enter my WEP, so that I can connect to my Belkin router. Everything is working, but WEP security is only marginally better than no security at all. One day, I'll change to WPA and lock everyone out,
Really like using network-config. This is a fantastic tool. I can now use my Raspberry Pi with an Iogear GWU625 USB adapter and my old Belkin router. Even WEP security works (don't ask). Along the way, I discovered that my cheap keyboard and mouse use too much current. Both are made by Logik. My HP ...
Just search for Respberry Pi on YouTube. There are some good videos that show how to interface to the GPIO pins. You can download all of the code you need and the circuit diagram.
This should be enough to get you going. Once you know what needs to be done, it's all very simple.
I've got rdesktop working, but I can't get any sound redirected to the ALSA drivers. I'm using the Raspberry PI analog sound port, because my HDMI monitor doesn't have any speakers. I know that the sound drivers are working, because I can play videos using omxplayer. It looks as if Windows is redirc...
I quite like the PiHouse, but would prefer it if the Pi was held a little more firmly. I may shorten the grey upright spacers a little, so that I can lock the perspex uprights a little easier. It would be good to have a top plate without any connector holes, since these aren't likely to be required ...
Please could you explain this in more detail. I keep getting messages about my mouse disconnecting. It always reconnects, but the console messages are very annoying. It's almost impossible to type anything on the console, because the mouse disconnect messages occur every 30 seconds or so.
I use the Windows Win32DiskImager program to read everything off my SD card and store it in a .img file. I can then write this to a different SD card, if I ever need to
