I also have this problem. The Bluetooth icon and Bluetooth Manager are missing from the desktop. I suspect that this may be due to the fact that I have recently upgraded my Raspberry Pi from Raspbian Wheezy to Raspbian Jessie.

I too am delighted by what the Foundation has done. I have a small webserver that I can access from anywhere in th world, running on a very cheap Raspberry Pi. I'm absolutely delighted

The Raspberry Pi Foundation are woking on a small screen. You need to wait, because the screen drivers aren't open source. Broadcom will need to supply a firmware update and some drivers for the sceen.

I had similar problems when using a cheap USB hub. Worse still, the hub supplied power to the Raspberry Pi via the USB uplink cable. The network-config tool allowed me to enter my WEP, so that I can connect to my Belkin router. Everything is working, but WEP security is only marginally better than no security at all. One day, I'll change to WPA and lock everyone out,

Just search for Respberry Pi on YouTube. There are some good videos that show how to interface to the GPIO pins. You can download all of the code you need and the circuit diagram.

This should be enough to get you going. Once you know what needs to be done, it's all very simple.

Please could you explain this in more detail. I keep getting messages about my mouse disconnecting. It always reconnects, but the console messages are very annoying. It's almost impossible to type anything on the console, because the mouse disconnect messages occur every 30 seconds or so.

Brilliant post. Takes me back to the old days, when I was writing shell scripts every day and listening to 80's music. Those were the good old days

I use the Windows Win32DiskImager program to read everything off my SD card and store it in a .img file. I can then write this to a different SD card, if I ever need to

For anyone that finds Debian a little difficult, the command to install the PDF reader is:

sudo apt-get install xpdf

This is well worth installing.

You need to speak to RS or Farnell (Element 14). They are now handling all manufacturing and distribution. Best to call them, by phone.
