Re: Playlist reservation a.k.a. offline webapp user manageme

The idea is very interesting and I can wait to implement it... Allow me some more questions... Let's imagine I am able to scan constantly the network and I get a new mac address... How could you "lock" it to a specific user? I try to explain. I use my phone and connect to the raspberry. An...

Playlist reservation a.k.a. offline webapp user management

Hello, hackers! For personal learning and gratification I would like to build a small webapp that allow my users to select songs in my playlist (saved in a mysql database) and "vote" for the next song to be played. It is all easy in a "normal" (I mean every network with internet ...

Re: Use a Windows PC to stream mic recorded audio to the Pi

Thanks for the ideas! Will this be stable and working with the "speak three words now and three more 30 minutes later" behaviour? I would like to use it with an on/off button so only when the button is on the audio is reproduced by pi otherwise there is complete silence (and no software re...

Use a Windows PC to stream mic recorded audio to the Pi

Hello there! I would like to use my Windows PC to stream audio to the Raspberry Pi that should simply play it without saving it. In my wild dream I'd love to have a single button allowing me to decide when to send audio and when to stop it. Which kind of software should I use on both sides? I can wr...

Re: Python loop script stops running: why?

This seems absurd :? For now I have a ugly workaround... with this watchdog.sh (run by cron every minute): #!/bin/bash if [ $(ps aux | grep 'yourscript.py' | grep -v grep | wc -l | tr -s "\n") -eq 0 ]; then /your/path/to/yourscript.py; fi & I get it working all the time but I still don...

Re: Python loop script stops running: why?

Thanks for the suggestion: I've implemented it.

The absurd thing is that the email function is never triggered during nighttime (door is never opened) but the script dies anyway :/

Re: Python loop script stops running: why?

Sadly I still can't solve this riddle :( I did what was suggested but the script stops working anyway and I get no clues why... I've also commented the popen row so it's all related to python now Here's my modified script: import smtplib from email.mime.text import MIMEText import time import RPi.GP...

Re: Python loop script stops running: why?

Hi there and thanks for your time and patience! I've added the try suggestion: try: while True: #take a reading input = GPIO.input(23) #if the last reading was low and this one high, print if ((not prev_input) and input): notificaEmail() subprocess.Popen(["/bin/bash", "/home/pi/script...

Python loop script stops running: why?

Hello, fellows! I've written a small scripts to check if my house door is opened and get notifications: import smtplib from email.mime.text import MIMEText import time import RPi.GPIO as GPIO import subprocess GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) GPIO.setup(23,GPIO.IN) input = GPIO.input(23) mp3_path = '/home/pi/...

Re: One wire w1-gpio and w1-gpio-custom

Hi there and thanks for sharing! I've read better and it looks like on newer firmware versions this is possible at boot time modifying /boot/cmdline.txt I did a successful rpi-update and then added at the beginning of my /booy/cmdline.txt : bcm2708.w1_gpio_pin=18 The only effect was to let my ds18 t...

Re: One wire w1-gpio and w1-gpio-custom

I'd want this so bad...

I love linux but never compiled a kernel...

Are there any detailed info about how to use two w1-gpio at the same time?

I read your snippets but look quite arab to me

Re: Canon MP270 -> "/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstocanonij failed"

I'm sorry to resurrect this post...

I've stumbled in the same problem and I manually compiled the driver for ARM.

Maybe someone is still suffering...

Here's the pstocanonij file:

Re: Alsaequal on raspberry pi - problems

Worked perfectly for me: thanks! :D

I get poor results in equalizing but I'll keep on trying...

To people that can't get it to work I suggest to delete or rename .asoundrc in /root and simply use the config file suggested in this thread in /etc

Have fun :)
