Re: 3x4 Matrix Keypad

FYI I have made some major improvements to this code and have since made it an actual package on PyPI. this also makes it easy to install via PIP. check it out here: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/matrix_keypad and here is my page for it aswell: http://crumpspot.blogspot.com/p/keypad-matrix-python-pac...

Re: I2C LCD not detected

Hi rainierez, Everything works fine when powered with +3.3V (when powering with +5V the LCD is not recognised. I've been using the LCD for just a couple of weeks now and the only issue I still get is that sometimes the data will become scrambled on the LCD. would the same script be called simultane...

Re: I2C LCD not detected

conclusion: you cannot (always) use an I2C controlled device designed for an arduino with a PI unchanged. either the device must be able to run on 3V3, or it's I2C interface must be compatible with 3V3 logic levels, or you need to use a I2C level converter, (as described) to convert 3V3 I2C signals...

Re: Drive 20x4 LCD with Adafruits 16x2 LCD tutorial (Python)

I created a library for exactly this display which I think is much nicer to use, more consistent and more idiomatic than the one by Adafruit. Take a look: https://github.com/dbrgn/RPLCD Feedback and testing would be much appreciated. I don't have mine wired up right now but looking at the code it l...

Re: Membrane Keypad Circuit Help

I just finished a part of a project using a 3x4. The code on here could be easily expanded to a 4x4 too. Code and details here: http://crumpspot.blogspot.com/2013/05/u ... berry.html

Re: 3x4 Matrix Keypad

I just got done writing a library for this exact thing. I wrote it first for the MCP23008 I2C port expander chip but then backported it against the RPI GPIO since most people would rather have just that. I wrote up a blog post with both libraries and a demo script. http://crumpspot.blogspot.com/2013...

Re: Drive 20x4 LCD with Adafruits 16x2 LCD tutorial (Python)

I just submitted an update to Github for exactly this purpose plus a few other add-ons to handle overflow from line 1 to 3 and line 2 to 4 based on the buffer wrap around. I just had to add a var assignment in the "begin" function for the column count then went about replacing the entire &...
