Why would they sell a dev kit if they don't plan to sell the Modules? Is someone else going to sell the Modules?

Microscope adapter for Rapi camera

I've built, using a 3D printer, an adapter to mount the Raspberry Pi camera to a 30mm OD microscope objective. Now I use a standard monitor to view what's under my microscope, instead of looking through the objective. All the drawings and CAD files are available at http://abraxas.to/Pub/Rbpi Anyone ...

Re: embedding Rasp Pi in commercial product

It looks like the new compute module will solve my problems. That's a very clever general solution for those of us wanting to embed a Rasp Pi in a commercial product. Thanks!

Re: embedding Rasp Pi in commercial product

Does a Gumstik have a camera? The charm of the RaspPi is the combination of 1) small size, 2) mature and actively maintained open-source code base, 3) a small, hi-res, cheap camera (with code), 4) plenty of connectivity and extra I/O pins. Is there anything else out there that matches a Pi in all th...

Re: embedding Rasp Pi in commercial product

The connectors are a problem, but the deciding issue is that we want to use the space that's currently taken up by connectors and headers, &etc for our own custom electronics in order to fit everything in the space we have.

embedding Rasp Pi in commercial product

I'm using a Raspberry Pi and the camera board in a prototype of what will become a commercial product. Because of space constraints and the need to integrate additional electronics, it won't be practical to use actual Raspberry Pi's in the final product. Do I need a license from someone to incorpora...

Re: SD card corruption...?

I've had 2 different PNY 4GB SDHC Class 4 cards fail after less than 2 months in 2 different Raspberry Pi's. I've tried to read / re-image them on a Linux box, but much of the data seem to be corrupted and they won't re-image properly. It's a puzzle. It seems as if they are physically damaged somehow.
