Re: The User Friendliness of Pidora but under Raspbian

I think I found the problem for the Greybird theme. I forgot to install the dependencies gtk2-engines-murrine and gtk3-engines-unico.

Re: The User Friendliness of Pidora but under Raspbian

Thanks for the reply. I re-enabled the GTK greeter. For the first boot utility, I was thinking more graphical and it creates a custom user account first.

The User Friendliness of Pidora but under Raspbian

I noticed how Pidora is very user friendly with it's design. It has a first boot setup utility, a LightDM GTK greeter (automatic boot into a graphic login screen), and XFCE as it's default desktop environment. However, I want all of this on Raspian because I'm much more familiar with Debian than Fed...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

so I copied a GBA BIOS file over to /home/pi/RetroPie/emulators/gpsp/raspberrypi/ and the gba roms folder, but it's still kicking me back to EmulationStation. Am i suppose to place it somewhere else? I attempted to load gpSP through the command line but I am getting the following error message: ./g...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

I finally found the solution. The runcommand.sh script isn't found because es_systems.cfg led it to the wrong directory. I created a separate user other than the default "pi" (it's "brianxp7") but the configuration file for GBA didn't know that. Here's what I mean. It was orignally this: DESCNAME=Ga...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

@Stormatree - if you run xboxdrv without the "--silent" argument, it'll print inputs as they come (and you might want to make sure you don't end the command with "&" or you probably won't be able to turn it off). @BrianXP7 - it should pull directly from DPR's repository on GitHub. That's strange. T...

Ubiquity-like interface for first-boot set-up

Is it possible to include a setup utility ran at first boot similar to Ubiquity? (Adding users, times zones, basically everything raspi-config does but with a more graphical frontend.)

Also, can it start the LightDM GTK greeter on boot?

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

I'm having an issue with both images. The old image installs successfully but the emulators crash (exept Duke Nikem 3D) followed by a white blurred dot in the center while the new image had the Weston and Wayland preview that removes the packages libegl1-mesa, libegl1-mesa-dev, libegl1-mesa-drivers,...

Re: Raspbian vs Pidora??

In the case with BerryBoot, no. You select a list of images you want to install but they are a bit outdated. I never used BerryBoot; I thought that was a different product, so what does that have anything to do with NOOBS? Oh, I misunderstood you. Now I know you're talking about the BerryBoot-based...

Re: The Hidden: Source on Steam

The Source engine could barely run Half-Life 2: Lost Coast on an old 2.30 GHz Pentium 4 with Intel Integrated Graphics (82865g). We can forget about the Source engine altogether not just because it's not ported to ARMv6.

Re: Raspbian vs Pidora??

So, in order to use NOOBS is it necessary to install the complete Raspbian OS first and then you would have multiboot capability, or is it a menu that pops up first and resides outside of any OS that you want to install? The reason I ask is that I don't want to install Raspbian as it would be a was...

Also, I agree the Raspbian image is old. I hate having to run a 4 hour long update.

Re: Minecraft Pi Edition-mine runs without terminal

It's not weird at all. It runs on a separate window that doesn't necessarily rely on the terminal. A simple chmod command and a double-click is all that's needed to launch most Linux binaries.

I just want to mention Whitey v0.3 is out and with a better tutorial. (By better, I mean easier to setup and has troubleshooting solutions.) You can get it at https://pypi.python.org/pypi/whitey.

Boot directly to LightDM's GTK Greeter

Is there a way to configure the boot behavior so it can boot into LightDM's GTK greeter? I don't like logging in via terminal and booting directly to the pi user is a bit time consuming when switching users.

Hide LXTerminal when launching Pi Store

I'm a little annoyed that a separate terminal window is launched along with the Pi Store's GUI. Personally, it come off as looking ugly. It feels unnecessary for normal use unless required for real-time diagnostics and troubleshooting. Since the Raspberry Pi is targeted at children, it may freak the...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

I believe the Makefile is missing an include directory. You can run this sed command (from RetroPie) to insert it into the Makefile (it just pastes the string into line 23): sed -i '23iCFLAGS += -I/opt/vc/include/interface/vmcs_host/linux' Makefile I applied the command but I still get the same res...

Code: Select all

It should work just fine, no actual porting necessary. Though it may lack some new world generation features in later versions (if there is any, caves will be added in the next Pocket Edition update). Just copy the map folders to your device. I tested 0.6.1 on my Nexus 7, both the map and LAN multip...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

Does anyone know how I can remap the controls for the keyboard? The pre-built binary doesn't have an option for this so I'm assuming it's somewhere in the source. I tried looking for it in "input.c" but I quickly got confused.
