Ditch your Cable/Modem ISP with a Tethered iPhone & rPi

I wrote a blog post a few weeks ago about how to tether and iPhone with a raspberry pi, and I got a couple emails asking if people could possibly replace their monthly cable internet bill with a setup like this. Staging Drivers for Wimax Card Only Supported in 3.0 Kernel

Dear Forum, I am trying to get my 4g card to work on Raspbian Wheezy. The make and model of the card is the Sprint 250U which has a 3g and 4g modem. I've got the 3g working no problem, but I'd love to get the rPi working with 4g speeds. The device is recognized >lsusb Bus 001 Device 009: ID 198f:022...

Re: Raspberry Pi & 4g Adapters

My current device is a dual mode device, has both radios, 3G and 4G.

Both are listed by lsusb, but only the 3G drivers seem to be supported.

Raspberry Pi & 4g Adapters

What are the biggest hurdles that are keeping more broad support for 4g adapters? I just finished setting up my Pi as a mobile hotspot using a wireless 3G card from Sprint (Sierra Wireless Aircard 250u 3G/4G USB modem), but my download speeds aren't great (.5mbs). I'd love to be able to use the 4g n...

Re: HowTo: Previously Unsupported Edimax WiFi Hotspot(workin

Hello Mr Engman, I'm glad you pointed out that line as it is one of the key differences between my tutorial and most others on the web. I do believe that should be the driver for the wifi card. However, in almost every other hostapd configuration I've seen uses... driver=nl80211 ...which i believe i...

I am trying to create a wifi access point and am running into all sorts of problems with out of the box support, and creating access points using hostapd.
