Mine is currently running at 40% CPU utilization with a Raspberry Pi Camera Module while running a print.
I'm using OctoPi 0.8.0. I am having no issues at this cpu load rate.

There are not TWO camera connectors. One is for a display.

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
Amy and I are shooting pictures in our workshop/garage in REALLY lousy lighting conditions (fluorescent plus natural light mixed in the same scene at different distances) and holding the camera with a jiggly hand. We haven't specified any picture quality options and just used defaults, whatever they...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
Awesome. Very cool. Out of curiosity, what revision is your non-working board if you run "cat /proc/cpuinfo"?

aframe is still having issues.

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
Another note. The "finger capacitance red light" thing ONLY occurs with the non-working board. I'm not sure how this is relevant, but thought I would share.

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
I execute cat /proc/cpuinfo on both hardware platforms.
The only difference (aside from the serial number of course) is the 2nd to last "Revision" number.
The working board is 000f
The non-working board is 000e
The link

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
I've tried two SD cards now. One is the clean install from last night, the other is a card we've been using for a while now. Both cards work. I've tried two Pi's now. However, only 1 works! The firmware update was done with both boards. I am using the same SD cards in each instance. The board that w...

Re: Camera competition winners' thread
I still have the sense, especially after reading Gordon's message, that there are unknown system dependencies. Not link dependencies, necessarily, but perhaps further config issues. It does sound like no one at RPi has attempted a camera install lately starting with an empty SD card, I think that c...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
That is correct. Started with a blank SD card for this last night.
I did not change anything on the GPU split, so ours is whatever the default is.

Yep, that was all we did. We'll try some other SD card / Pi hardware combinations later tonight (US / East Coast).aframe wrote:Yay!! Glad you guys got it working!
Did you just add the statements to the bottom of the config file?

That works great! Edit /boot/config.txt with the two lines referenced above and reboot.

We haven't tried on any other SD card but the one we installed fresh last night. Amy has to go to school...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
I am currently updating a new SD card, with the latest Wheezy image. All I am doing is flashing the card, expanding the file system, enabling wifi, and then following the steps outlined in the camera document. I believe all connectors are connected correctly (not my first time with ribbon cables). I...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
We've reseated both connectors (camera side and Pi side). I believe we have them seated properly. If we connect only one side, we can detect continuity at the opposite end of the ribbon cable on each pin. So, I think the ribbon cable is good. I see no physical faults with the ribbon cable. I'll try ...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
Is the red light supposed to be on all the time or only when the camera is in use? I'm not sure if it is relevant, but when we place our fingers over the ribbon cable at certain points, the red light comes on. Capacitance of our fingers? For a while we thought it was when we MOVED the cable, and wer...

Re: Issue with getting camera to work
We do have the ribbon cable in correctly. We used a multimeter to check the ribbon cable connection to the camera. We are using a rev B Pi. We tried it with two different Pi's. We're using Wheezy and updated with all instructions that came to my daughter in an e-mail. We did update the firmware on b...

Issue with getting camera to work
My daughter was happy to receive her camera last night. We went through installation instructions and ended up with this error. I believe 1 other recipient of the camera had the same problem. Something like this should probably work:

Instead of running "pico", just run "startx".

Re: Raspberry Pi and Breadboard
Short answer: Yes, you can. Longer answer: There are some things you might do for "safety". I usually unplug the ribbon cable when I am working with the components on the breadboard. That way, should you inadvertently short a pin while connecting components together, you are not in any dan...

Re: external events for rpi
This should be a fairly simple task, and easily accomplishable. I'm not sure from your post what your level of experience with computers is. I'll help you break it down into a set of steps, and maybe you can ask questions on the parts you need more help with. 1) You need to write a program to watch ...
