For those that were waiting, i have added a VirtualHere USB Linux client and an VirtualHere USB OSX client now... also the client can run as a service for osx and windows (and linux with a bit of manual scripting) and the client has an API

Can any version of the client be expected for Mac OS 10.6.8 or Desktop Ubuntu? I want to install this on raspbian server edition and would rather not have to install a lot of unnecessary libraries. Actually you need to do

sudo ./vhusbdpi -b

and that will run in the background and you dont need to keep a terminal or login open.

You need to make sure vhenum is run. This should run automatically by the dpinst but seems like it doesnt when the files are expanded into a directory.

In your silent install script when dpinst.exe has finished running, run vhenum.exe

In the client have a look at the system messages (right click Virtual USB Hubs -> System Messages)

That will have a message saying why it is installing the drivers. e.g "No drivers found", "Installed drivers corrupted", "Drivers are old they will be upgraded" etc. What does it say?

I have made an OSX client now for VirtualHere. IT can be downloaded from http://www.virtualhere.com/usb_client_software

At the moment its still very much in beta, but will support bulk, control and interrupt transfers

(No ischronous at the moment, which means no webcams).

It does not require special usb drivers, it will use existing drivers unchanged.

VirtualHere emulates the physical layer so high level drivers dont know the difference.

BTW, next week a MacOSX client will be released to beta

@mark. I have updated the server and client to work around the locking issue.

Could you download 1.3.0 of the server and 1.3.3 of the client and give it a try.

@dw515, please download server version 1.2.9 and that will automatically ignore the ec00 device so it wont be visible by clients and cant be accidentally shared

Yes please do not share the ec00, it is the USB Device that internally connects the external hub of the raspberry pi to the internal usb pins on the ARM cpu.
