Re: GIMPS on Raspbian?

On the GIMPS download page they have executables for Windows, Mac Linux etc. None of these will work on the Pi. The Pi is an ARM processor and they are built for Intel processors. They also have all the source code available for download on that page. You would have to download that to your Pi, unp...

GIMPS on Raspbian?

Hello,

I have Raspian Wheezy installed and everything, and thought I would like to try out the GIMPS project: http://www.mersenne.org/

How would I do that? Would the 32 bit linux version work?

Thanks!

Re: What can I do with one SDcard?

Anything things that will run on the same OS can be loaded to the same SD card (assuming enough space). Things that need different OSes would have to be run from different SD cards. That's not entirely true. You can have multiple OSes running from the same SD card, and by changing the cmdline.txt f...

Re: Home Server

Nope.

I set up a Samba server on my Pi and got really bad speeds. I'm sure running something else on it would have made it much worse. If you want to do those type of things your going to need much more of a powerful server.

Sorry!

Move a File

Hello,

Please excuse my stupid question, but after a couple Google Searches I wasn't able to find the command to move a file. All I need to do is move a file from one directory to another....

Thanks so much!
