Use the edid-decode app built from the above commands to decode the EDID you dumped. Working from memory on how these things work. tvservice -d fred.bin edid-decode fred.bin and cut and paste the reply here. Checking my notes within my webpages I think it should be edid-decode < fred.bin Trev

Re: RPi 4 has stopped booting, red light constantly on

I have tried by formatting the 2GB SD card to both FAT16 as well as FAT32. But it did not work. I dont see the recovery getting triggered. You may have a 2Gb card that is "too old". IIRC, during early testing, there were issues with some cards <=2Gb so you may have "another one of those". All the 4...

Re: running autoconf

If there's at least a configure.ac file present, and assuming autotools, automake etc. have been installed (IIRC they're not, or not all, by default in Raspbian), running autoreconf -i often "sorts things" out enough to ensure that ./configure etc. works correctly. My GPIO 'C' Demo software (http://...

Hi, Just getting started with the Pi. I got my hands on a Pi B version, and after a failed attempt to install Noobs on a 64G card, I downloaded the Rasbian directly and installed it. It finished updating overnight. Already not a good sign. I'm using latest version, Rasbian 10. Is this a problem, us...

Re: The Power Circuit in Pi Zero vs Pi Zero W

Wow 80mA that's so little.. I've done the measurements. But remember: 80mA is just the bare Zero running at 700MHz with ~20% CPU using a 8GB SD card. I use them with a GPIO serial link. The USB serial link will draw 30mA more! Even a USB mouse/keyboard will increase the power requirements significa...

Re: Beware: power sequencing

OOC, were you using the Pi's "built-in" 3.3V supply (controlled by a PMIC) rather than an external, simpler, 3.3V regulator fed by the main 5V supply? I suspect, possibly dependent upon external decoupling capacitors, that the latter might improve matters too. (AIUI, & I might be wrong, the PMIC bri...

I am trying to install a Pi 4 in a location without a screen to attach. I can login with SSH OK and use and update the Pi but on setting up VNC and Teamviewer, there seems to be no way to connect remotely to the Pi unless it has previously been attached to an HDMI screen and created a /dev/fb0.
