Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

What's the best way about doing the scheduling? I want to capture motion but don't want it going off while i'm actually home. The Work schedule is great, but could there be a "sleeping schedule" too?

Having issues with a new SD card (Maybe? I’m not sure)

]I picked up this SanDisk Ultra in preparation for the arrival of my two Pi 2s (I already had an sd card for one). I downloaded the latest OpenELEC for the Pi 2 and Raspbian. The micro sd for the first pi 2 works fine with OpenELEC. Popped in the new micro sd card & it was recognized by my Mac, ...

Creating App from Python

I'm trying to create either a standalone application, or one that runs from a folder. It's a touchscreen based program that lets me view my XBMC library and tell it to play something. On its first run it will create a folder for xbmc image cache, and it also creates Python Bytecode Documents. My pro...

Touchscreen

So I have this display and I followed the steps on this page: http://engineering-diy.blogspot.com/2013/02/raspberry-pi-raspbian-xbmc-and-egalax-7.htm but I'm having issues with the touchscreen. My axes are really messed up. When I tap the upper left corner, the cursor is placed In the upper right. T...

Re: Missing SD Card Space

OpenELEC reports it having two partitions, one at ~124mb, one at ~755.

Aside from it saying 4GB on it, I'm 100% positive it being a 4GB card though.

Not sure what the hell happened with it. About to just buy a new card.

Put Rasbmc on the card, and now I have two visible partitions, one being 73.4 MB, the other 1.29 GB.

I'll have to look around tomorrow on how to do that. Have too much of a headache from this right now to do all that.

Missing SD Card Space

Can anyone help me figure out why my computer is reading my SD card & saying it's a 2GB, even though the actual storage is 4GB? I've used this card in the past for xbian/rasbmc/rasbian, but I've never had this issue before. No matter how many times I format it, erase it, delete partitions, etc.,...

New to Python

Literally just started reading up on it/doing tutorials yesterday after elParaguayo suggested I use it to build a remote that I'm hoping to use to control my other Pi/XBMC setup. My end product will hopefully be a main screen that lists a couple of the XBMC categories, and when selected it displays ...

Re: 7" Touch Display

Unless there's other ideas, after further reading/looking, I think I'm going to jump to the BeagleBone & install Android for this project. I want to have a touchscreen based remote that can be used with my Xbian media center, either by using a web browser or using something like Yatse (Android o...

Re: 7" Touch Display

I was thinking of going with RCA due to this being a small, compact remote. The shortest HDMI cable I've seen is 1.5', and HDMI cables aren't the most flexible cables in short distances. I'm split on if I want to build a portable remote that could be recharged, one that isn't portable, or one built ...

Re: 7" Touch Display

Just bought that screen. Should be here sometime at the end of the month. Since I'm putting it & a Pi in a small enclosure, I'm thinking of going with a RCA cable rather than HDMI/VGA. Easier to twist/curl in a small space. By any chance is there a (easy) way to power a Pi without a power source...

3D & Projector

I've been going back and forth using RasPlex & Xbian on my Pi. I have the BenQ W1080ST which supports 3D including HDMI, Blu-Ray, 3D broadcasting, video games and NVIDIA 3DTV PC connectivity. I've had no issue playing .mkv files that're 2D, but when playing 3D files (mostly SBS), the option on m...

Re: Pi, Projector, Surround Sound?

I hate to bump such an old thread, but is there a HDMI hub or something that has more than one output? I'm more sure if it's possible, but I'd love to have my cable, the Pi, and my xbox pass through the surround sound. And if possible, get it so I can those sources be played on the projector or my tv

Didn't realize that it was strictly a receiver, no speakers. Looks like I'll have to buy some since my sub doesn't have its own power source

Awesome.. So I guess for my setup I would connect the Pi to that amplifier via HDMI, then another HDMI to my projector?

Pi, Projector, Surround Sound?

I currently have Xbian running on my Pi, mostly using the PleXBMC add-on to play my movies. The other day I purchased the BenQ W1080ST projector. I connected the Pi to the projector via HDMI, but I was unsuccessful with surround sound (maybe because my dvd player/surround sound system is old?) What ...

Xbian + Apple Remote

I have both versions of the Apple remote (the white one & silver one), and I have an old Manta TR1 receiver & I'm hoping to somehow use one of those remotes to control xbian.

Is this possible? If so, how can it be done? I'm a bit new to all of this.
