Re: How to protect the filesystem without a save shutdown button?

<t>In theory, since the part uses such limited power (as it's aimed at mobile phones), adding a sufficiently large capacitor or button cell might help mitigate such issues... a +5v sense GPIO could be there to say "oh, the +5v is gone... I'd better hurry and gracefully shut down."  Maybe in the futu...

Re: LCD HDr, and VGA.

Well, you could convert DSI to LVDS first and from LVDS to just about anything you'd like (VGA, another HDMI or DVI, DisplayPort...) but the cost for a hobbyist to do it would likely exceed the Pi's base price (probably by some order of magnitude if you buy pre-built convertor boxes).

Re: Introduce yourself!

<t>Hi all,<br/> <br/> I'm Jeff, from Chicago(-ish), and I've been following the Pi for awhile but not really had much to say (other than talk about how excited I am about it, but it seems there's enough talk like that around here).  I'm in my late-20s, and I work for a company that develops HDMI and...

Re: D-sub/Vga Monitor Cables/ Accesories

Makes sense to go proper DVI/HDMI, as it seems possible that something may trigger HDCP to go on, and any legitimate HDMI->VGA converter would shut off its analogue output when that happens.
