Re: Pi in the sky!

Update on my Pi problem.
The PSU was the problem. Very strange as it appears to be working as the LED's are lit on the Pi!
But I'm guessing it must be unable to maintain required output once SD card starts firing up!
Now running ok off alternative power supply with no problems 8-)

Re: Pi in the sky!

Thanx rpdom Yeah I think you're right. The green light was erratic but then a steady on/off so I assumed the Pi was dead. I forgot there was not video without SD card, for some reason I incorrectly thought there was a splash screen without a card in the slot ooops  I just now left it for 10 mi...

Pi in the sky!

My Pi has kicked the bucket yesterday morning. I'm missing it more than I thought I would  Now I know what a BORG feels like when missing an implant lol Think it's lasted about 18 months and I usually leave it on most of the time but I reboot and leave it waiting for a password. It was stuck in...

Re: cannot find my data partition :-(

Fairly easy to run a Linux Distro on a PC http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop I'd recommend the 12.04 LTS as it fits on a standard CD. Download & burn it to a CD, Access boot options on your PC at start up and tell it to boot from CD. When asked click 'Try Ubuntu without changes to your PC' and ...

Re: cannot find my data partition :-(

Have windows background but not Linux so that went over my head a bit! So I assume I can gain access to my backup(s) on the 2nd larger partition but I need to run a Linux distro! How do I go about that? Do you mean run a new distro on another SD card to access the broken/crashed SD card? Download a...

Re: cannot find my data partition :-(

Thanx Max That command line seems to have restored the SD card Linux partition to working condition! Took about 5 mins and looked more like a scene from the Matrix with all the numbers flying by on screen. Not gone through everything yet but I think the video settings under XBMC might have changed. ...

Re: BerryBoot Wifi bother

I had Berryboot running over wifi without any issues, install went smooth!
Wifi dongle plugged directly into the pi and using a direct 2amp power adaptor, not a powered hub!

I've had 3 builds crash out on me but but not a power issue I think as was running smoothly for days and boots!

cannot find my data partition :-(

Hi. My first post on the Pi and need some help plz! I've now had this happen for a 3rd time "cannot find my data partition :-(" I might have run before I can walk but I just went all out and got my Pi a week ago and got the XBMC media centre install up and running pretty quick.
