Couple of points for good results ; 1. 'Run as administrator' wherever possible windows imager programs. 2. Use 7 zip to extract zipped image files ; http://www.7-zip.org/ for best results. I use fedora arm installer, but on fedora, not windows. The issue looked like permissions addressed by point 1...

I've just installed the 2014-3 version of Pidora and I've run into a problem getting the GUI. My B+ is going to be used primarily in a headless format, though I will need to occasionally hook up a monitor and keyboard if there are problems. to that end, I installed Pidora using an HDMI-to-DVI adapt...

Its a working system for running equipment, try disabling the autostart items . Also if you have linux and can mount or direct quick in the boot do

one more reflash and now i get it to boot to desktop.... BUT. theres some icons showing up in the bottom of the desktop and after they all show up, the desktop disappears and it gets a shutdown command and shuts down... rinse and repeat. Any help?. :D I tell you something, dont mess with rubbish SD...

Is there a different wiring Pi for the Pi ver 2 rather than for the previous ? How is this related to the original topic? FYI the latest version of wiringpi is compatible with the Pi2B because the OP has stated "I can drive the LED fine using wiringPi, so no problems there." I am asking a question ...
