Re: BBC: Amazon connects Pi to Alexa

Yes, I'd tried looking at the FAQ. The problem I'm having is with the audio input (usb mic) the output is fine. It might be worth noting that I had to use a different version of node to get it to work. I followed http://conoroneill.net/download-compiled-version-of-nodejs-0120-stable-for-raspberry-pi...

Re: BBC: Amazon connects Pi to Alexa

Just installed this and the service seems to be running, but it doesn't receive any sound. Any tips on how to get the usb microphone working with this service?

Using a OnePlus One. It seems to stay connected ok even if there's no internet connection.

Re: MPD connection in car. Client won’t connect if phone dat

Cheers, but that's not a problem. The wifi connection is fine, regardless of whether it has internet.

It's that MPD Control (and other clients) won't connect to the local IP if the phone has a data connection. Works fine when there's no data connection.

Re: MPD connection in car. Client won’t connect if phone dat

Thanks for responses. The tethering solution works, but I’d rather not have to leave tethering on if possible. I have the access point set up as wlan0 and the internet connection on wlan1, so that if there’s no internet connection I can still reach the pi. Any other ideas on how I can set this up so...

MPD connection in car. Client won’t connect if phone data on

Hi, I’ve set up a Pi Zero as an access point with MPD on it for use in my car. Idea is to connect to stereo and control through a direct wifi connection using MPDroid or MPD Control. When I try to connect in car it’s a bit of a pain to connect to the server. It will only connect to the Pi’s IP addre...

OpenVPN problems after upgrading to rPI 2

Hi, I've just upgraded to an rPi v2 from an original model B. I cloned onto a new micro SD card (after apt-get update and apt-get upgrade) and put in the new board. Everything seems to work apart from OpenVPN. Is there something obvious I've missed in the upgrade process? Just wanted to check before...

OpenVPN server - intermittent connectivity problems

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on troubleshooting my raspberry pi openvpn setup. I have two setups at different locations (on different networks). One of which works very well, and the other seems to have intermittent connectivity. By intermittent, I mean that the connection speed continually peaks...

Re: Thermostat controlled remote plugs project - help needed

Simple answer is that I have a raspberry pi! I've not looked into arduino before, but will take a look. I'm using this project to learn about using GPIO, writing simple python code etc. It needs to be connected to the internet so that I can control it remotely (the setup is for a gym in an outside b...

Re: Thermostat controlled remote plugs project - help needed

ok, thanks. I've found it now.

I've got it reading the temp from GPIO22. I can't work out how to then use this within any of the other programmes though, i.e. how would I modify the basic code in the adafruit tutorial to make use of the temp sensor at GPIO22?

Thermostat controlled remote plugs project - help needed

I’m trying to set up a thermostat to work with an electric heater. The idea is that the raspberry pi turns the electric heater on or off depending on the temperature. I’m using status remote control plugs with a 433mhz transmitter and the RPI-Control software (which in turn uses pihat ) to turn the ...

Re: PiHAT - Rasberry Pi Home Automation Transmitter

I’ve now managed to get the remote id using your code - changing the bandwidth to 15000 did the trick. Thanks!

I’ve tested using pihat from the cmd line and the remote and it works fine. When I tried adding the appropriate id to RPI-Control it didn’t work - so this is my next problem to sort!

Re: PiHAT - Rasberry Pi Home Automation Transmitter

Ok, I'll try again tomorrow with the increased bandwidth as I suspect that the quality of the recorded signal could be the problem. I'm aware of using -s to get the remote id, but it's currently returning a blank. If I fail next time, I may well take you up on the offer of decoding the signal! Thanks.

Re: PiHAT - Rasberry Pi Home Automation Transmitter

Richard, Thanks for your suggestions. I've tried to follow them to record and then run your program. I'm not getting an error now, but seem to get the odd 0 or 1 with some recordings, but nothing with most. Do you recommend recording a single button press in a wav file or something else e.g. multipl...

Re: PiHAT - Rasberry Pi Home Automation Transmitter

I’ve been trying to set up some status plugs to be controlled by raspberry pi and have managed to set up txt3rob's RPI-Control on my system. I'd like to turn the led off on my wifi dongle too, but as I have a different kernel the two versions that people have uploaded here don't work for me. Re: M-Audio FasttTack pro - does anybody have it working wit

Mixxx installs and runs ok, but the audio quality is bad. Even by setting the latency to a longer number and overclocking the cpu to the highest level the audio still crackles. I was trying to see if I could set up a cheap dj solution, but it doesn't look like this is viable. I'd not got as far as u...

Excellent. I've got this working now - thanks again for your help.

The next step is to work out how I can use both outputs from the FastTrack - at the moment I only seem to be able to play from one output. Any ideas on how to select both outputs?

Ok, some progress.

plays the file. What does -Dhw:Pro do? and how can I set up to use this as default?

Thanks for your help so far.
