Who uses Raspberry Pis?

I was not able to find any sources for this, but I am intersted to know what the sales of raspberry pi's are by age group. Did the Raspberry Pi actually succeed in enganging highschool students into software / hardware engineering, and are there numbers to proof it?

Re: Which FPGA board should I get?

I found another contender:

http://icoboard.org

+ open source toolchain (actually this seems to be the only FPGA with this)
+ raspberry pi HAT
~ medium cost ( ~ 100USD)

Re: Which FPGA board should I get?

I was looking for a hat. Otherwise it wouldn't be RPi specific or? I am really starting to think that an official FPGA hat would make a lot of sense if more people move from Arduino to RPi. It would basically fill the hole from lack of real-time capability on the RPi and probably have a pretty good ...

Which FPGA board should I get?

I want to get started with FPGAs and want to know if there are any boards that are preverable for interfacing with as RPi. I have seen the Mojo v3 and the Papilio but they seem to come more from the Arduino corner. Other then that, maybe someone can tell me which one has the largest user base in the...

Re: Making a custom 'motherboard'

Yes, very neat project, however it does not solve the latency problem either. Found out that you also get a pretty realiable transmission if Pi3 in access-point host mode and 'retry' parameter set to 1. Avoids switching to lower transmission speeds disrupting the transmission. The error correction h...

Re: Making a custom 'motherboard'

I settled with a standard raspberrypi 3 for now, which turns out, is not indestructable if mounted to a quadcopter. I found video transmission over wifi to be challanging, due to the intrinsic latency of the hardware h264 encoder and reliability of wifi connections. I think I will drop this project ...

You can find the schematics and Eagle cad files for a custom motherboard from the link. I think that's a good starting point.
This looks excellent and contains valuable information. I guess you used a professional PCB service.

Re: GStreamer video without X

Yes, I know about Kivy and have also been using it without X. As far as I know however it doesn't use GStreamer as a backend but you can use GStreamer to display stream within a Kivy application. The documentation isn't the best on this however and in general I think what I'm trying to do is just a ...

Making a custom 'motherboard'

Hi, I want to make a own board to interface a compute module and two cameras. Can someone give me some pointers on how to proceed? Is it feasible to only make 1-5 pieces?
If I need to go to some commercial provider, which one would you recommend?

GStreamer video without X

I'm using the official (DSI) touchscreen and want to use GStreamer to display video output on it. What is the appropriate sink to use if no X-server is running? I'm using the standard kernel branch, if that's important.

Re: R Pi 2 Ethernet Port not working

I just want to state that I also have a Raspberry Pi 2 with no working ethernet connection.
It is connected to switch and all other devices work without problems, using different cables
I unfortunately only have a headless setup for the pi2.
It suspect this is a hardware problem on the pi2-side.

I have implemented a generic way to interface Labview with a Raspberry Pi. This works over VXI-11 which can be considered as "GPIB over Ethernet". https://github.com/sonium0/pyvxi11server I hope this is useful for anybody and has potential to grow. To my knowledge there is no example of an opensourc...
