Re: RPi 2 has better connectivity than RPi4?

Try putting a 1 meter/3 foot USB extension cable between your wifi dongle and your Pi4. I had to do this for a wireless keyboard because USB3 interfers with the 2.4 Ghz band.

Re: Pi 4 Cooling and Hats

https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/fan-shim

You can use a GPIO Height Extender with the Fan Shim, as per the Pimoroni write up !

https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/booster-header
And how am I to put this in a case and still get any air flow? This is not a solution!

Pi 4 Cooling and Hats

I've been reading a lot here about heat problems on the new Pi4 and adding a fan or heat sink to help keep it cool. But none of the solutions I've seen will allow for a Hat since the fans are on top or the big heat sinks that block adding a Hat . I can see this being a problem for many people here. ...

After trying everything I could find on the net I finally gave up and downloaded the latest release of Stretch. Following my same notes it appears to be working correctly now. I just wish I could have figured out how to fix my orginal problem. Now I have to rebuild 9, make that 10 (just bought a new...

RTC on Stretch

I have had DS3231 RTC's on my Pi's running Wheezy, Jessie and now Stretch. Everything worked as expected on Wheezy and Jessie but Stretch has a problem I haven't been able to figure out. I followed the instructions here for Jessie and Stretch. https://learn.adafruit.com/adding-a-real-time-clock-to-r...

Re: not all arguments converted during string formatting

I tried the second example and it worked. But it must have something to do with the variable created by the "bus.read_word_data" because my other sensors that use "bus.read_byte_data" can print without the "%s". I'm new at programming and this really had me confused. Thanks, now I can get on with th...

Re: Edimax Wifi adapter seems to go to sleep if not used

Thanks for posting this. I just found this fix after fighting this problem for many months. Somewhere along the way some code or driver changed because all four of my wireless adapters worked fine for six months before I started having problems. Thanks again. Try this. Make a file 8192cu.conf in dir...

Re: Infinite Loop in Python3

I think I tried what you are talking about, but still got errors. It should be clear that I don't understand python. For anyone who wants to try to make it loop, you don't need a display connected. Just add a print command to the Main section and see if it loops. Until I can better understand python...

I've loaded the program found here http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2012/07/16x2-lcd-module-control-using-python/ and have everything working. I'm now trying to get the program into an infinite loop so the display is consistently updated. I found an example here http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/python-f...

Is there a way to stop it from monitoring for changes? Once the Pi is booted and the wireless connection is made is there not a way to have the system ignore new interfaces so that it doesn't try to switch to the new interface and stop the wireless? Disabling WPA-ROAM

I am a ham radio operator and have a program called kissattach that is part of ax25 networking that I need to run. Run the following command to have apt-get upgrade running once a week ( every Saturday at 6 minutes past midnight). For it to work smoothly run the apt-get update 5 min before. sudo crontab -e and add the 2 following lines to the editor that opens : 1 0 * * 6 /usr/bin/apt-get update 6 0 * * 6 /usr/...

What programs could be used to input this data and create a simple web page. The program would need to accept a text string, slice it up into small pieces su...
