Re: How can I revive my RPI3?

issuing "badblocks -n -v /dev/sdc" onto the microSD mounted in a microSD-USB Adapter results in a lot of numbers. I guess that are real bad blocks. Does that mean, the SD went dead? I interrupted the test somewhere in the middle, took too long. According to this: https://help.endian.com/hc/it/articl...

Re: What is a good replacement for Etcher (ads and ignores privacy)

So now that the new BalenaEtcher contains ads and ignores privacy settings, what is a good replacement for Etcher? The previous version, without ads ;) Well, I do have an old(er) version of Etcher installed. When I open it I get an error message "Cannot read property 'UPDATE_NOTIFIER_SLEEP_DAYS' of...

Re: What is a good replacement for Etcher (ads and ignores privacy)

I am assuming, since you posted this in an RPi forum, you have one. So why don't you try "gnome-disk-utilities", which creates a "disk" app in your menu.? It has a disk image create and restore function built in. Unlike Etcher you might have to uncompress an image first, but that is easy enough. Gp...

Re: What is a good replacement for Etcher (ads and ignores privacy)

On which platform ? PeterO Sorry, Windows 8.1 If you care about privacy and the like, wouldn't you be running an Operating System which has ongoing support from its supplier/maintainer? Windows 8.1 falls under the same lifecycle policy as Windows 8, and will reach end of Mainstream Support on Janua...

How can I revive my RPI3?

I have been using a RPI3B for a few months. It is running Raspbian with some software, no monitor, I only VNC into it. Power is connected, SD card and LAN cable, no USB card. It suddenly stopped working. When I power it up, the red LED stays lit, the green starts blinking. No morse code, after a few...

Re: camera 1.3, detected, but raspistill does no picture

Actually, it is Octopi, flashed with Etcher, expanded partitions, changed hostname, activated camera, rpi-update and apt-get distupgrade.
No other changes made. I do not know about any other application getting the camera.

Hello all, I would like to run Octopi with camera on a Pi 3 B+. The camera is a RPI cam 1.3. Re: Cannot get PI 3 B+ to boot, PI 1 boots with the same SD card.

I already ran 4 Amps through those cables, they should work fine. From the MagPi the only thing I can imagine is a blown fuse, but I find that unlikely. If the fuse is blown, does the red power light turn on? From the schematic the light should be after the fuse: https://www.raspberrypi.org/document...

I downloaded the image today. It should be the newest.
I used a micro SD to SD adapter in the PI 1.

Cannot get PI 3 B+ to boot, PI 1 boots with the same SD card.

I just got a RPi 3 B+. I installed Raspbian Strech lite on a SD card using Etcher, but all I get is a solid red light, no green light flashes, no HDMI output, no LAN activity, no LAN connection LED. Things I connected: USB power supply, SD card, HDMI and LAN cable. The LAN cable is connected to a Sw...

Which VPN server for RPi with user/password login Cisco Win?

I am using a debian minimal wheezy on my RPi. I'd like to dial into my RPI via VPN and no-ip. I already set up apache with no-ip, this works. Which VPN can I use for user/password connection? I'd like to connect from Windows using Cisco VPN Client. I have seen a guy adding passwords in clear text on...

I am using a minimal debian image. This one:

Unfortunately it lacks raspi-config.
Is it possible or wise to install that?
Is there a tutorial for it?
