Re: Netflix on Linux

No it would NOT be illegal. I would pay for the content. I wil lnever suggest not paying for content. There is no reason Spotfy, Netflix and other online streaming providers can not support a solution based on Linux straight on the Raspberry Pi. I am suggesting that the netflixes and spotifies of th...

Re: Netflix on Linux

Wouldn't it be lovely to "just" be able to run Netflix on XBMC on your Pi.. I think that Google (don't be evil) wants to sell their chrome-devices you plug into your TV.. My Sony TV supports Netflix and i guess it is not running Windows under the hood but some sort of Embedded Linux. Netflix develop...

Re: Basic Information on Wireless Transmision of RP Data

Easy as Pi. Do you have any linux knowledge? Because it is not too difficult to just use cron to schedule a job reads sensory input and send it to whatever wherever.. Break the project up in pieces. read sensordata * select a sensor you want to use, see if it will talk to a pi * see how you can get ...

Re: turn off one pi from another?

Sure, on both raspberry Pi's you issue (as root) ssh-keygen and create a keypair WITHOUT a passphrase(just enter) openelec:~ # ssh-keygen Generating public/private rsa key pair. Enter file in which to save the key (/storage/.ssh/id_rsa): Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase): Enter same passphr...

Re: Tweet CPU usage and when pi start

To issue a command when the Pi starts add a script or command to /etc/rc.local to tweet CPU usage with regular intervals use cron to schedule a job. For tweeting from a script or the commandline take a look at tweepy https://github.com/tweepy/tweepy a python implementations of twitter. Please note t...

Re: How do I expand a partition

It is as easy as pi.. Delete the partition (don't be afraid, you will only delete the reference to the partition in the mbr) create a new partition with the exact same startpoint, but make it the maximum allowable size, keep all other settings the same perform a resizefs on the filesystem.. but if y...

Two of my pi's work wonderfully with OpenElec. I play audio, video streams from the internet, movies on my Samba server.. No problem at all. So, Don't give up to soon. Set up OpenElec.. It is a dedicated stripped down Linux distro for Embeded systems.. It is fast and smooth and i don't recognize any...

You are making assumptions! Thats what you are doing wrong.Way back you had to specify the filesystemtype on every mount. You are trying to mount a terrabyte drive with "vfat" as filesystem I cannot tell what filesystem you are using. so loose the -t vfat option (and the umask for that matter) sudo ...
