Re: Voice recorder from Line input. VOX?

You are very kind. However, I think, I have someone already working (our afternoon today) on this project. So I would like to keep you in background if you don't mind?

Re: Voice recorder from Line input. VOX?

External hardware with A/D converter etc, too complicated. Must be done in software as you indicated that it can be done. (I am BIG 0 on software BTW)

Best I can offer is op-amp based audio trigger (VOX). This you can apply to one of the I/O to trigger recording.

Voice recorder from Line input. VOX?

Hello to Software developers, I need help. Task is: To record audio signal from a line output of a PA amplifier. A amplifier is already setup with microphone input and a line output is available. Suitability of this signal (Line output) can be adjusted to match a sound card for Raspberry Pi. How it ...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

http://1999c.en.alibaba.com/product/378347202-209286956/Mini_Sound_Module_with_micro_SD_Card.html 3 USD each! If it's prerecorded, there's no need to actually transfer the audio every time you hit a POI. given that you'd need a decoder under each seat anyway, why not equip it with some sort of stora...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

I think I need to learn a lot. I was thinking broadcasting over a twisted pair and no need for error detection. So you have say 1MB slices, and 24 channels, so 24MB per download. With a 100MB/s Ethernet that will take over 2.4 seconds, say 5 seconds once all the overhead is accounted for. I'd say th...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

For client, we will use hardware decoder. Will need micro controller etc. I think we understand what you mean raju, but it isn't going to work like that. The clients need intelligence to decode the slices, or they need bandwidth to transmit raw sound samples. If they are intelligent then they will c...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

Now I have little more time so I am going to explain with aid of a drawing. Please download image. Think of each audio file as a whole loaf of bread. Name them Audio A, Audio B and so on. Now slice them, each slices are of the same thickness. Give them name so they have unique names. Now hang each sl...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

I know about licence. But commercial version was talked about. At higher price and may be more customise. Yeah, that's what I meant by using the Olimexino with it's built in sd card, one per seat, using a 2 wire interface to sync. Ooops, didn't make that clear. A Pi would be easier still, if you cou...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

This is best idea, I thought about it before. I might still go for it but think about this. Every time one modify a audio file, one has to access these devices to update memory. If one has only 25 buses in fleet with average 85 seats each..........nightmare. So now, may be we can have MP3 players th...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

Hi higwoth1, Raspberry Pi will sit at the front of the bus with tour guide. (in practice, a GPS thingy) Every time bus come to or pass through a POI, he/she will press a button on Raspberry Pi box to play a commentary for this place. The commentary is recorded 24 times in 24 languages. Assume each p...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

I thin I have not given enough enformatio. I may have misguide you guys by using word "Simultaneous". So I try again. The project is for open top bus. Need is to play some PRE-RECORDED audio commentary to tourits. Since it is not live commentary, all these files don't need to be transmmited simultan...

Re: Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possib

Yes, if this what it is called. But I don't want to use PC to receive the files. It may need some soldering! What I mean is that there will be low cost receiving hardware with simple channel selection and volume control. And of course a simple two digit LED.

Simultaneous audio output on single twisted pair, Possible?

Am I in right forum for this? I am someone with very little knowledge in programming and hardware. But I will try to explain what I want, here we go. I want Raspberry Pi to output up to 24 mp3 or similar audio simultaneously from it's network port (RJ45 thingy?) I have seen similar systems on Open T...

<t>On power supply, there is an excellent post by thunder_x in this forum. I have requested some more link from this person. Almost all power supply made for PC mother board would be an overkill. <t>A stand by battery to keep Raspberry Pi alive when "cranking". Simple answer to 30 seconds is: couple your device to remote unlock system. This way you gained minimum of 10 seconds. I would gain full 30 seconds!<br/> <br/> However, if you are able to improve on boot time, it will be an bonus to a...
