Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

Sorry, I don't have the 2.8" version, so I can't help troubleshoot. By the way, the original Tontec 2.4" is still available from dealextreme for about US$20 - search for MZTX-PI-EXT. I took a quick look at the file mzt280.c. It seems that there are some differences between loadFrameBuffer_diff() and...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

Try to do a diff on both the Github version and the one you downloaded to see if there are any differences. Check bcm2835.c and mztx06a.c. The other thing - I'm not sure how familiar you are with make, apologies if you know this already, no disrespect meant. Did the binary really compile? What's the...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

I went to the Amazon link, and it looks like the seller used the same page, but actually has a different display board (2.8" instead of 2.4", and doesn't have all the extra I/O and power connector, according to the photo). Do you have the MZ280H-PI-EXT, or do you have the original MZTX-PI-EXT? To an...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

I got my new Pi. Then, I tried to update to the latest version of mztx06a using 'git clone https://github.com/yaolet/mztx06a'. I compiled it using 'make', replaced the old mztx06a executable with the newly-made one, and rebooted. It didn't work. When I connected it to my television, though, I could...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

Which version of mztx06a are you running?

I need to build the module to test. But first I need the kernel sources, and getting the right sources for Raspbian seems challenging at best. Sorry for taking so long, busy at work with something else.

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

I was also reading up on Adafruit's piTFT tutorial. I will need to reproduce your results first as my environment now does not include X. Note : evtest doesn't require X (I think), it monitors /dev/input evtest doesn't appear to need X, I'll try that first. I'd like to see what's keeping the mouse ...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

Personally, I'm more interested in using the screen as a control panel / display rather than a console, so I think the code you posted above is a great start for that, rather than a kernel module that can work as a mouse replacement. Thanks for investigating this touch screen. If anyone else got far...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD

I haven't gotten the touchscreen to work (just stumbled onto this thread) but I fixed the CPU utilization on my display. Essentially, mztx06a loops indefinitely, reading the frame buffer, looking for differences, and updating the LCD through I2C. It does this as quickly as it can, so it takes up all...

Just confirming, pressing up / down arrow keys has no effect, and pressing caps lock doesn/t cause the indicator light on the keyboard to change? I'm hesitant to suggest a bad Pi board, but I can't think of any other possibilities, especially since you've tested with two keyboards. Maybe more experi...

Re: Networking with the PI is making me feel hopless

I don't have an XP system to test on, but it sounds like you're back to the original issue, like you said. According to Microsoft's document here , it will try to set your XP's ethernet interface's IP address to 192.168.0.1, but that address is already in use - by your router. Networking with XP is ...

IP conflict reported by XP? What's the exact message, and when did it pop up? Any idea what caused this?

Are you pinging 192.168.0.1 from the Pi? Can you also ping 10.0.0.1?

Re: Raspberry Pi 512 MB not powering components

What happens when you :

1) plug in keyboard (leave out mouse for now)
2) plug in HDMI
3) power up the Pi

You see the main configuration screen, and keyboard still doesn't work? Do the caps lock light go on / off when you press on caps lock?
