Re: Twitch.tv broadcasting using Pi?

Did you ever find a solution to this? We're looking to fit out a few studios with cameras. I'd love to do with the Raspberry Pi but looking at the NUC in the mean time instead. Would love to hear your experience. I did not, I found a few odd programs to try and get started, but simply put the model...

Pi Folder Sharing Issues

Hi, I have had my Model B Pi set up as a NAS for all of the computers in my network for a good 4 months now, and was using a 3rd party program to back up all of my PCs to a set of external hard drives attached to the Pi. Everything was working perfectly for months, but as of yesterday something went...

You probably need to change your overscan settings

See Here - http://elinux.org/RPiconfig
The overscan is already set properly for my desktop though? Nothing is cut off on the boot sequence or the desktop environment, only when I try to use this emulator.

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

Awesome, this is just what I was looking for! One problem though, when I try to start the emulator, the menu is cut off no matter what resolution I'm on, so I can't see what I'm supposed to do! How do I reduce the window size on launch?

Twitch.tv broadcasting using Pi?

Hi all, I'm having a bit of trouble finding an answer to this question by searching myself, so here goes: I want to set up my Raspberry Pi as a 24/7 streaming box to my twitch.tv channel. I will both be emulating older games to play live, and later doing a video playback of stuff while I'm offline, ...

Re: cannot load auth module

to be honest I'm not sure. I start xchat through the terminal then use the load script option in the program to try loading the scripts, the auth one loads fine I suppose (no error messages), but the bot.py script fails to load as previously noted. I just tried loading the scripts themselves through...

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

Sorry, in my previous edit I removed the part that says the problem appeared to have fixed itself once I initialized the program on the regular display. It works fine now. Now the issue is I can't get the scripts to work, I have made another topic for that, sorry for the confusion.

Re: cannot load auth module

I'm afraid I don't understand. I installed xchat using apt-get, I'm not sure where exactly it installs it. I'm not sure where python is installed either, it's the version that comes with the Raspbian install image. Both should be in default locations (wherever that is), but I don't know linux so I h...

Re: cannot load auth module

I'll assume you mean the plugins folder in /usr/lib/xchat? I just tried that, same result. Thanks for the suggestion though, I didn't think to move it there myself :P. I also tried moving it into the hidden /.xchat2 folder in the user directory, as that was another place that popped up in the sideba...

Re: TUTORIAL: How to get Minecraft Pi edition working!

hmm, so I got this downloaded and extracted, ran the command to start it, and the window loads, but nothing happens, it just sits at a black screen? The process is using CPU power though, about 25% pretty consistently.

cannot load auth module

Hi, I've spent the last month trying to set up my pi, get an irc client that works for my needs, and set up proper remote access, and I thought I was finally in the clear once I got everything working, except now I'm running into issues with the following python scripts and was wondering if I could ...

EDIT: actually this has turned more into a python issue than a irc chat software issue so I will just go ahead and make a separate topic for that, thanks everyone for the help.

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

OK, to confirm my suspicions earlier I borrowed a monitor again and tired to run leaf chat on that and it worked perfectly fine. I wasn't able to set it up because its a tiny analog monitor and I simply can't read the text on the screen, but at least I know for sure its a vnc complication. I'm using...

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

tried that and the error simply changed from not being able to connect to the X11 window 1.0 to not being able to connect to display 0.0

I am using 1 as the vnc display, by the way, if that helps. The vnc server is set to run automatically and I connect via ssh tunnel

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

Ok, so I redid the whole installation, made sure I installed JDK8 properly, and I'm still getting the error when trying to start leafChat. I noticed you used cat run.sh in your screenshot, what is that? I tried copying that on my terminal but got an error too.

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

Wait...in order to run JDK 8 properly, don't I need the soft-float OS? I'm reformatting anyway due to a different issue and if this is needed I'd rather not have to do the reformat twice.

Pi stopped working after ssh troubles

Ok, so my Pi has stopped working. Last night I was trying to set up a jdk8 install again because I think I did it wrong the first time, running through ssh vnc since the pi is tethered to my router, and I set it to reboot and it didn't come back up. Because I have no HDMI monitor and no converter fo...

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

Ok, I tried running leafchat and got this error, I believe it has something to do with me running on a vnc server because it mentions the desktop that I'm using to run the program, but I don't have the slightest clue how to fix it? [email protected] ~ $ sudo java -Xms128M -Xmx512M -jar leafChat.jar Cli...

Re: IRC software that supports python scripts?

If it's an bot, do you really need a fully-featured client? Could either building your own using sockets and/or use a library for IRC work for you? (see http://oreilly.com/pub/h/1968 and https://pypi.python.org/pypi/irc/ ) 8-) I suppose it doesn't need to be a full-featured client. It just needs to...
