Pi Zero HD44780 LCD

Hi, I have searched and not found an answer to my issue. Does anyone know how to wire up an LCD screen directly to the GPIO pins, should I follow the original 26 pin guide or the new 40 pin ones? Also can anyone point me in the correct direction to making lcdproc work on a zero? I can install it cor...

Thanks in advance

Re: 2.8" TFT + Touch Shield Board v4

Hi Texy, I have one of your orginal, V1a screens on an original raspberry Pi Model B, the screen works fine with an old version of Notro's image, but I wanted to update to a newer version of Raspbian, or the modified Max2Play image and wondered if there was a way to do this? I have tried the V4 inst...

Rsync Backup

Hi, I have a model B set up with a powered usb hub and two usb hard drives which I am currently using as a NAS. I wanted to make the disks mirror each other so I have a backup, I have gone down the route of using rsync, but have stuck an issue. Currently I have a crontab command of: 0 5 * * * rsync ...

Dead model A?

Hi, I think my model A pi may be bust due to misconnection to the GPIO with a stereo amp, power light flashed on and off and faint burnt smell, so quickly turned it off. Now when the pi is powered on via the office swag adapter the red power light comes on faintly and then will fade to nothing, the ...

Re: B+ External Hard Drives

Hi, Thanks for all the replies, I have tried the software changes and unfortunately they don’t work for me. I have to USB3.0 hard drives, so I am going back to my old set up of a PiHub powering the pi and the two hard drives, as I know it works. I will keep an eye out for any power changes published...

B+ External Hard Drives

Hi, Can anyone recommend a power supply for the new B+ model that will power the Pi and two 2.5 external hard drives? I have used a 5v 2a power supply and it does not give enough juice to power the drives. I have not changed any of the power settings on the pi, so if anyone can recommend a supply or...

My P0 is actually VSS on the LCD.
If you are using 16 x 2 try having a look at andypi.co.uk as he has a tutorial that includes the pins used to wire his screens.

Hope this helps

Re: Raspberry Pi on... Dialup?!?!?

Hi, Can anyone recommend a usb modem that will support caller id? I have been using NCID on a pi and it works with the two conexant modems I have, but loses caller ID information after a few hours. I have seen that US robotics modems are recommended but wanted a confirmed answer before I spend more ...

Re: HD44780 Large 20 x 4 display board, I2C

Texy's screen also works great on Volumio, the updated version of RaspyFi. Download and install Volumio to an SD card, I have used a 2GB one but it is almost full, so I would recommend at least a 4GB card just to allow room for further expansion. Once installed I would recommend connecting via LAN a...

Re: Network caller id

Hi, did you guys every get this working? I have tried to get NCID working on the pi with no luck, I am basically looking for a way to get a USB modem working on the pi so any landline calls could then have the callers id transmitted to PC's around the house, so far I am getting no where so any point...
