My issue now is that I have various services that are not listening on the correct TCP/IP interface.

I downloaded the F18 RC1V5 Pi Remix, uncompressed it, and wrote it to a bog-standard Sandisk class-4, 4GB SDHC card. As with the Beta3, F18 RC1 V5 seemingly perpetually boots both my 256MB and 512MB Raspberry PIs.
We are not amused. :(

Which version did you install ? Alpha, Beta1, Beta2 or Beta3 ?
