Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

Hi, 1) Please post all your email settings as shown in the UI (excluding of course the password). 2) You look for some instructions on (a) setting up a port forwarding and (b) configuring a dynamic DNS service unless you have a fixed IP. 3) Please post your network path and the settings you filled ...

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

nOOb here, Thanks so much for this project. I had been working with the Motion config files with marginal success before I read a post about MotionPie. Downloaded the img, sparked up my Pi, and the camera works great. Couple of issues: 1) Haven't been able to get the email notifications working, tri...

Re: At the end of my troubleshooting options:

So, I finally found out what I was doing wrong!!! I am posting this so that super-Noobies like myself might enjoy a shorter algorithm than I had to endure. When I copied the OS (OS's) onto my SD and microSD cards I was copying the whole folder. When I extracted the downloaded .zip files my computer ...

Re: At the end of my troubleshooting options:

Argh! No luck with the Adafruit OS.
Not sure what the problem is. Neither RPi will boot. Wondering if there is something wrong with the formatter.

Re: At the end of my troubleshooting options:

Thank you.
I tried using the Full(erase) formatting option and downloading the test NOOBS lite to the PNY 8GB card...no luck.

I will try reformatting using the Full(overwrite) option.

Am now waiting for the Adafruit Occidentalis OS to download and am going to try that on the reformatted card.

Re: At the end of my troubleshooting options:

Thanks for your reply. The one card that works with RaspBMC is a ScanDisk Ultra 8GB The card that used to work but does not now work is a Dane-elec 4GB (this one, I think, is now listed as questionable.) The microSD's which do not work are a Transcend 8GB (which came from Adafruit with another compo...

At the end of my troubleshooting options:

Hi, I have a Type B RPi and at one time booted it with an older NOOBS SD card. Later, I booted it with a RaspBMC SD card. Now, it will not boot with the original card, but will boot with the RaspBMC card. I've downloaded the latest NOOBS, tried loading it on two different microSD's and it won't boot...

Should I use different SD cards for different "builds"?

Such a Noob that I can't find this info in the forums! I've been working with my RPi and am looking at trying to set up a Media Center as a project. If I want to use RaspianXBMC (or whatever), it boots directly from the SD card. I've been booting Wheezy from my card and am wondering it is a good ide...

Re: Atlanta, GA area

I'm in Atlanta and have just recently received a Pi as a gift...I had only just got started messing around with an Arduino. I've got the RPi up and running, but I find myself somewhere in between...I'm working through some Arduino projects that turn lights on and off and such, but I'm not really up ...
