Yes that is it. I installed it and started it. Did not see the display because it does not raise to the top.

Thanks.

Re: onscreen preformance display

Thanks for the hint. It looks like it is conky? I installed it and start it but I guess it doesn't honor the DISPLAY env? It is running but not displaying on my desktop. I run a headless server and use SSH with the '-Y' options to get the apps displayed on my laptop.

running desktop without a monitor?

Hi group, I have a simple question that I can't figure out. I run a headless Pi server and I would like to start a window manager and do some testing on it. When I SSH in without '-Y' and try to start xfce4-session I get this: root@RaspberryPi:~; xfce4-session ** (xfce4-session:10740): ERROR **: Can...

onscreen preformance display

Hi group,
Sometime in the past, I viewed an tutorial about an on the screen performance display. Like the idiot I am, I did not remember the name of this tool. It was something 'kodi' or 'codi'? It is a real nice display with a transparent background. Would anyone know the name of this display??

[Solved] Re: running diskless Raspbian?

Swapped out the external hard drive and the problem has disappeared.
So I suspect it was the KingWin USB interface, since the HDs are both WD.

Thanks to all for your support.

last update removed eject line command

Hi group,
Just a note to Raspbian developers, my last Wheezy update removed the eject line command. I used 'apt-get install eject' to fix. This happened two days ago.

I knew In did not include all info. So here it is: The external power supply is a 2 amp USB hub. The disc is a 2.5in WD 320G using KingWin USB enclosure. This is the second drive combo I have used, the first one kept dropping ready, so I replaced it with brand new parts. The root FS is sda1, which i...

sample i2c ina219 code?

Hi group,

I am working on a monitor for my solar system using a Raspberry Pi with a ina219 current/voltage chip. Looking for examples of C code to monitor. I found Python and C++ code but that is not what I'm looking for.

Any pointers?

Thanks for your time.

I don't remember installing it, like you said, maybe it is a dependency?
The bottom line is what is an eProfile used for? Do I need it?

How to force rpi-update to reinstall kernel modules?

Hi group,

I have managed to screw up my raspbian system to the point I can no longer run depmod. Rpi-update installed a 3.12.26+ kernel that I over wrote with an older 3.12.25+ kernel.

How can I force rpi-update to reinstall the 3.12.26 kernel and modules??

Thanks for your time.

No USB support with standard install

Hi group,

What do I need to do to get USB support working?

When I plug in a USB device I see nothing in dmesg. I do see:
"Bus 001 Device 004: ID 125f:0000 A-DATA Technology Co., Ltd. "
So the system sees the device but nothing in /dev.

Any pointer like a USB howto?
