Re: MATE for Raspbian

Looking good.
I might try this, since i think even the most highly customized LXDE themes still all look worse than Windows XP

Re: No crumb trail

The forum UI design is so frustrating that I have to bring attention to this topic again. Many times I've navigated to a thread and added a reply, then found myself thinking "How the hell do I navigate back to the forum category again?" Not having any kind of navigation is horrid! Probably drives lo...

Re: Setting up HDMI output

Since so many people are having major issues with display setup on Raspberry Pi I've decided to start a project to create a graphical display setup tool. Graphical interface for Monitor Settings The idea is to create something similar to the monitor setup in Mac/PC, a GUI for setting common things l...

Re: Setting up HDMI output

jdeacon: I have image out of the screen, What I have to do?? Thanks. You could have a problem with overscan. Edit overscan varaibles in the bootconfig file. Use "sudo leafpad /boot/config.txt" (or replace leafpad with nano if you prefer command line text editing) to start editing. Try something like...

Re: Graphical interface for Monitor Settings

From a technical standpoint: The GUI will be the tricky part, since I haven't really worked with GUI applications in Linux before. But I guess the actual code will be quite simple. Could basically be a simple bash script. Basically all I need to do to apply changes would be to modify the /boot/conf...

Re: Graphical interface for Monitor Settings

My plan for the first version of this tool: 1. Dropdown showing all possible resolutions, highlighting the native ones. 1. Simple GUI for modifying basic values like - Checkbox for setting overscan on/off - Numeric textboxes for setting overscan top/bottom/left/right 2. Some kind of help wizard wit...

Graphical interface for Monitor Settings

The first thing most people boot their Raspberry Pi to the desktop they will have an issue with black borders or a much too low resolution. This is quite a big problem for many users, and figuring out how to edit boot.config manually isn't very intuitive. So I thought, why not create a graphical int...

Re: Wireless keyboard not working

when I installed the default raspbian back in January it was impossible to get my Logitech Bluetooth keyboards (k340 and the k400 with trackpad) to work. Even after fiddling with drivers and packages. But I recently reinstalled raspbian using the NOOB install kit and they both started working instan...

Re: Wireless keyboard not working

http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals lists the k340 as a working keyboard. It's also recommended as a buy specificially for the Pi on this blog. http://www.flypig.co.uk/?page=list&list=blog&list_date=201212 However I've just bought my Pi and the k340 and tried to boot it up and the k340 isn't w...
