Re: Pen Drive Woes

Thanks very much RichardS (and others!). I've recovered the data with the "Linux reader". Just need to reformat the drive and, hopefully, all will be well. Still not sure what happened but will assume I must have written the o/s to the pendrive as well as the sd card somehow.

Re: Pen Drive Woes

Whoops! For "wasn't" read "was".
Just downloaded and tried Testdisk on XP. It found just the 59Mb partition. I'll try it on the Linux.

Re: Pen Drive Woes

Don't believe the pen drive wasn't in the computer when I wrote the O/S. That was written to a SD card. Shall try the tips for locating my "lost" data. Thanks for the pointers.

I cannot locate the stuff on the pen drive. I give up. Later... I plug the 32Gb drive into my Windows XP machine. It reports my pen drive is 59...

Re: Gibberish from keyboard

WooHoo! Thanks drgeoff! Had I had my braincell attached I'd have thought of that. I transcoded Dvorak into English and have reset keyboard to something that nearly works! The snag I'm now having is that my keyboard is New Zealand not English and thus the symbols are scrambled. Typing @ gives me " an...

Try "Format Factory". It's both free and fast.

Gibberish from keyboard

It's my fault. On the first boot I entered the wrong keyboard and now anything I type comes out as gibberish. I cannot load sudo raspi-config as,,, everything I type is gibberish. Any brilliant suggestions?
