Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

I'm looking for information on refreshing web page assets in Screenly. I didn't see this info in the FAQs, and I think I got some data in other postings, but I haven't been able to put it all together. What I would like to do is display weather pages; radar, current conditions, and forecast. I'd pre...

Re: Errata

Thank you. You're right. It does look correct using Adobe's reader.
I was trying to minimize the programs I had installed on this computer since I never seem to uninstall anything until I'm out of disk space, but I guess I'll need to keep Acrobat Reader.

Re: Errata

Hello, I have a problem seeing the text in some of the callout boxes on the .pdf version of issue 39. The boxes pointing to items in the illustrations on pages 32,34,37, 39, and 58 are black. It looks like the the text might be behind the black boxes. The text boxes on page 36 look correct. I'm usin...

Re: Commodore The Amiga years!

It looks like the link didn't copy/paste correctly. Also, there was an article posted last Friday http://woodtv.com/2015/06/11/1980s-computer-controls-grps-heat-and-ac/ The Commodore Amiga was new to GRPS (Grand Rapids Michigan Public Schools) in the early 1980s and it has been working tirelessly ev...

Re: Looking for Recommendation for Learning Qt

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I was able to order The C++ Programming Language book for 11.45 USD. Someone must have donated a copy to Goodwill, and they sold it on eBay. They're a charity that helps people get employed. It looks like the next version of this book will be released in May, but...

Looking for Recommendation for Learning Qt

Hopefully I've selected the right section to post this question. I've been working with the Pi a bit, and I'm interested in Qt. It looks like something I'd like to learn to use. I was able to install Qt 4.8.2 Creator/Designer/Assistant/Linguist, so it looks like Phase 1 is to install Qt, and since P...

It should be called the 'Model D' just for the spectator sport of watching all the "Why no Model C?" questions it would create.

Re: Order and Shipping update from RS & Allied

I'm surprised that the lead times are getting longer.

It's a good thing the people in the foundation caught on that the 10,000 unit batches wouldn't work.

Is there any guess when multiple units could be ordered?

For those people using the prosilver theme, could the logo link go to the main blog page instead of the forum top? There's already a Board index link. Also, could an alias be put in so going to http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums takes us to this new forum? Every now and then, I need to type in the ad...

Re: There's a little update from Eben on the front page...

My guess is there could have been a translation mistake, and the factory made Raspberry Scones instead of Pi s. (Oopsie!)

Since the world isn't flat, like it was many years ago, some people will need to substitute the alarm clock with a coffee pot and a few Red Bull.

If the High Executive Council of the Raspberry Congress wants to change the "Howdy", it's in /wp-admin/admin-header.php, line 108.

Not sure if any updates would overwrite it back though.

What sucks is the font that's used on computers where the lower case "L" is exactly the same as the upper case "I". All those t.co links seem to have them, and I always choose the wrong one.
