Re: Pi + few DS18x20 by Python

Vladimir, The code I supplied does not use the i2c bus, but the W1 (one wire bus) It collects the sensor IDs from the code DeeJay noted. If you have 3 sensors as I did, then you use sensor_number 0,1 or 2 if you have your DS18B20 sensors connected to the Raspberry Pi GPIO, then enter the following f...

Re: Pi + few DS18x20 by Python

Hi Vladimir, I don't know if the following is of any use to you. It is a small Python program I used to test out my multi-DS18B20 setup:- # To read multiple DS18B20 sensors # Version 1.0 # imports import glob import time # Using 3 sensors numbered 0, 1 and 2 def get_tempc(sensor_number): base_dir = ...

Re: Powered hub requirements

I don't like to "back-feed" my Pi(s) from a powered hub so I modded one of these I got one of those hubs too. I also cut that track. However my hub seems very unreliable, even on my PC. Also, the PSU that came with it states (as you said) 1000mA, but can't even manage 5V on a model A with no periph...

Re: Nokia Pi LCD

Martin I think that deserves a thread in its own. If you could show everything step by step, or at least the software, that'll be cool. Cheers Texy. Ooooo! Now that wouldn't be pretty - the code is, I feel sure, horrible. Plagerised and mangled as it is by me. But I'll have a go; we have some build...

Re: Nokia Pi LCD

Hi, Used texy's great little LCD display plus totally plagerised, horribly "noob" mangled (by me) code from the forum, mostly bgreat 's NokiaSPI class, and now the little beaut shows Eth / Wifi IPs, CPU speed / temp, freespace, up-time and temperature from two external Dallas DS18B20 sensors, plus a...

Re: 'Nokia 3310' type LCD add on board

Hi, <snip> Note also I have just released a shield type board - connects to the Pi without a cable : http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=32187 - it may be more suitable to your needs? Regards Texy texy, The new shield looks good - may have to have one of those as well as your ear...

Re: Cannot boot -- suspect SD reader problem

wilsonericn, You don't say which type of display device you are using, other than " I have also tried two monitors that have worked consistently with other computers " The Pi does not work directly with PC monitors without adapters, unless they have an HDMI input. If you connect using an HDMI TV doe...

Re: Can't connect to Wi-Fi

Hi, Don't know if this has been resolved but here's my two-pennuth. If you are using "wheezy" distro, then the only thing I needed was to add the network entries ( i.e. SSID, KEY-MGMT, PSK ) to the wpa_supplicant.conf file. Don't touch wpa.conf. This got mine working after fumbling around unsuccessf...
