compute module 3+ H264 decode max /recommended bitrate
Hi all, quick question about the compute Module 3+ I am trying to find the detailed spec for the H264 decode. I was explained in another thread about the video size & FPS spec, but I cannot find the recommended / max bitrate for the decoder let's say for a RTSP stream. I read some non-official p...

Re: Future module Based on bcm2711: Question about H264 decoding spec
jamesh/trejan, Many Thanks to both of you for your clarifications !! Jamesh: It's the same H264 block, so performance is the same per clock. Of course, the clocks can be faster on the Pi4, so there is a bit of extra performance, but resolution limits stay the same. trejan: The h264 block core defaul...

Re: Future module Based on bcm2711: Question about H264 decoding spec
So many HW devices discard H264 4KP60 decode in favor of H265 decode. For the Pi 4, it is more that the H.264 codec is the same one from before so has the existing limitations. A new 4K capable H.265 decoder was added. If I read correctly (or maybe there is a typo on element14 spec): The H264 specs...

Future module Based on bcm2711: Question about H264 decoding spec
Hi, Quick question (planning in advance for a possible compute module using the bcm2711) I am looking for a clarificartion about the bcm2711 page: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bcm2711/README.md Multimedia: H.265 (4Kp60 decode); H.264 (1080p60 decode, 1080p30 encode)...

Re: Official Raspberry Pi 4 Case (screw spec ?)
Finally,
I ended up creating a weak rivet by driving a screw from a servo kit in the hollow of the two post opposite of the ports side. The port side is held in place by the connectors.
Thank you for your suggestions.!!

Re: Official Raspberry Pi 4 Case (screw spec ?)
It's not designed to need screws. You'd have to drill out the posts the PCB mounts on. The holes in the PCB are designed for a 2.5M machine screw. Thx, I was hoping to avoid any "customization" work, using tiny screws for plastic to secure the PI board into the posts. If I need to take th...

Official Raspberry Pi 4 Case (screw spec ?)
Hi All, Short story: Is there an official spec for the screw to be used if you want to screw the PI4 to the official PI4 case bottom part? Long story: I just received my RPI4 4Gb ram & official case. I have to admit that I failed to look into the details of the new RPI foundation case for the PI...

Definitely the SoC and not the RAM? When we do qualification testing of a new piece of silicon, we make boards with split lots on. These are special SoCs that have been "skewed" in the semiconductor manufacturing process to emulate the maximum differences in performance/speed/power that y...

There are many autistic-like people on this board, glad that you see Autism as a benediction. My son is 11 and it is/was not a benediction for him. He had to learn everything in order to live on this alien planet. True, his autism gives him an edge over others on some aspect (maths, logic, etc), but t...

Ok, there is no mistake.
the red they use is not rendered nicely on a blue body (looks violet)
this is a 27K resistor (showing the red & violet):
