Re: Analogue audio testing

Is the line dtparam=audio=on present in /boot/config.txt? Yes, adding that line to config.txt brought back the audio device. And sorry, I have seen the solution a few posts above! I think the fix for "mmap'ed mode" in squeezelite is also working, I have set one of my players with "80:4:16:1" parame...

default Audio device disappeared after last rpi-update!

It was working fine with Apr 6 firmware; after a rpi-update to Apr 22 I have no default analog output device listed.
This is happened on 2 Max2play devices.
I have also tried sudo rpi-update 1e84c2891c1853a3628aed59c06de0315d13c4f1 to have them back, but it didn't work.

Re: Analogue audio testing

Great work. But the sound quality is still far behind of a chinese dac (based on pcm2704), value $ 5 :) Grin, you can try to use a software equalizer for a better sound. Max2play has an integrated one, but I think you can install and use one to every image. It's definitely improving the sound, but ...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Feedbacks since my last post: I'm now using the new driver and analog output on a Rpi A+ and a Rpi B as main source (max2play image, squeezelite activated, alsa parameters as "-a 80:4:16:0"). Everything is perfect, no hissing, no distortions, no stuttering. Only remaining problem is the known "audio...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Well, it's all a bit of a Curate's Egg (and not chocolate). Streaming BBC6 was fine and changing to BBC2 was OK, but Spotify was broken up and then the sound stopped. Returned to BBC6 and no sound, but restarting Squeezelite produced music, Radio Paradise was broken up sound and a couple of channel...

Re: Analogue audio testing

I can replicate the issue where audio drops out after a period of time (91 minutes since the last time the driver was opened - coincides with a 32-bit counter wrap). Currently the only way to fix this is to reboot. I have seen a case where doing Ctrl-C on aplay at the "wrong" time can cause audio t...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Hi, This is great, thank you so far. I have tested it on a Rpi A+ with a clean Max2Play installation, only Squeezelite active as a LMS player. Background noise is gone, audio quality is more than acceptable on a Philips Fidelio dock speaker. Big problem is continuous pops( I don't want to give wrong...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

I'm checking my Squeezelite version and it says v0.9beta11(updated with setup menu). Squeezelite has released v1 stable and v1.1beta, why is the setup menu update process not seeing new versions? It should be the latest version. The last version for armv6hf is 1.0. There is no 1.1 beta form armhf. ...

@oren29at Hi, I have 2 of that usb dacs working. Your configuration seems ok. The only difference between our "aplay -l" lists is your "Subdevices: 1/1" against my "Subdevices: 0/1". Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

If you would like a static address you could leave it as dhcp on the raspberrypi and then just set a dhcp reservation for its MAC address on the router so it will always have the same IP. Yes, but it's a workaround not real static ip. Both methods (reserve ip and manual configuration of network fil...

MODMYPI Wireless USB 11N Nano Adaptor 802.11N

I can confirm that Nano Wifi dongle of Modmypi.com ( I don't know the chipset and there is no branding) is working out of the box without problems. I have two of them, the seller says its compatible with raspberry pi and I can add Squeezeplug compability.
I hope that helps to someone.
