Re: PiCheckVoltage : monitor battery voltage
Sorry for replying soooo late to this post, but I thought to mention that I'm using a LM3914 to measure the battery on the pi, using the LED output pins to trigger the appropriate GPIO port. I'm using a 12V battery though, not sure it this thing runs on 5V.. I am looking at using the LM3914 for mon...

HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor Arduino
Hi,
I'm planning on using the HC-SR04 in a single pin configuration on the Gertbaord Arduino, but the SR04 needs +5V, and wondered if anyone has tried running this from the Gertboard with any luck.
Thanks

Adding RGB sensor to Gertboard
Hi, I'm wanting to run x5 TCS3472FN RGB Colour sensors from my Gertboard, and I've got them wired into a 8-way I2C multiplexer (PCA9547PW). My question is simply does it matter which 3V3 pin on the board i draw my voltage from as there appears to be several and not sure from the manual if there is a...

LiPo and Motor Battery Voltage Regulator
Hi, I need some advice with selecting a power regulator module for my robot. I am using a 22.2v 5000mAh LiPo Battery, and running a Devantech MD49/EMG49 motor and controller board which is fused at 10A on the motor controller itself. I have been advised from the Devantech guys to fit a On/Off Switch...

Automatic Robot LiPo Charging
Woking on an autonomous robot at the moment, and with the docking I'm happy with the basic fundamentals on getting it into the docking station, however I'm drawing a blank on ideas for connecting a LiPo balance charger to the dock. The advice is to use the balance charging facility rather than just ...

Line Follower Sensor
Hi, I am looking at following a yellow line on a grey background and have the following options; LED/LDR - Can sense primary colours, but slow response 0.1s IR LED/Photodiode - Effects from ambient light, not sure how successful this will be with yellow/grey RGB Colour Sensor - Not much information ...

RGB Colour Sensor Line Follower
Has anyone got any prior use/feedback of using a Colour Sensor (TCS34725FN) over the classic IR sensor for a line follower robot?
Just thinking might provide a more interesting ability to follower different colour lines and perform certain actions based on colour sensed.

Ultrasonic and Infrared Sensor Comparison
Hi, I'm looking at using a sensor to detect obstacles in it's path, and from my research people use either ultrasonic, infra-red, combination of both. Can anyone simply state the benefits/negative's of each, because from what I can see is that ultrasonic cost more but can sense a further distance, h...

Wiring up RGB Sensor to Raspberry Pi
Hi, This is my first attempt at connecting a TSC3472 RGB sensor to my raspberry pi. I have a raspberry pi rev 2, and a breadboard to attach the sensor to. I have read the data sheet shown below, and got the operating characteristics, however I am a bit confused with some of the wiring. I am aware th...

Re: RGB Sensor
Just saw this on http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-color-sensors: We add supporting circuitry as well, such as a 3.3V regulator so you can power the breakout with 3-5VDC safely and level shifting for the I2C pins so they can be used with 3.3V or 5V logic. Finally, we specified a nice neutral 4150°K...

RGB Sensor
Hi, I am looking at making my own RGB sensor to keep costs down, as I see Modmypi have an RGB sensor for £12 (https://www.modmypi.com/adafruit-rgb-colour-sensor-with-ir-filter), but from Mouser UK I can get the chip TCS34725FN (http://uk.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ams/TCS34725FN/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsE7cRVS4...

Induction Charging 24v
Hi, Has anyone had any experience with induction charging at 24v? I'm looking at novel ways of charging my robot without a manual connection. I've had success with the 5v for my pi, used on this system http://www.adafruit.com/products/1407, but have yet to venture into trying with 24v (not sure how ...

Robot Drive System - stepper or servo?
Hi, I'm building a robot which will weigh inc. payload around 20Kg, so I need to spec a decent motor to this. The robot will be autonomous and turn on the spot when required. This is my first robot project, so looking forward to getting stuck in. I'm looking at using a 2-wheeled robot with different...
