Silicon Power 32 GB card. Other cards work fine. Card does the same thing in an original Pi B. Primarily trying to use it in a Pi 2.

Trying images like Ubuntu mate it installs but after about a minute I get graphical errors all over the system....

That is a suggestion... so ... thanks I guess. But it doesn't really help me with my issue, I'm not interested in Raspbian....I want to get this new MATE version to work.

You may be able to remove it with dpkg --purge <packagename>

Thanks this seems to have gotten rid of steam at least. Now on to fixing other issues! I'll have to add this idea to my bag of linux tricks ;) Thanks for the help!

Re: Ubuntu 15.04 / Mate for Raspberry Pi 2

However it seems it's using between 30-50 percent on each core simply idling with just the system operations running. (it favors core 1,2,3 over 4...) (Its a fresh install with only 2 custom programs installed and neither are running) Any Idea if this is normal ? I've had similar problems before on...

Re: Ubuntu 15.04 / Mate for Raspberry Pi 2

I seem to have it down to around 0-15 percent most of the time now. Not sure what was up. Running just system monitor jumps to 14-20.

Re: Removing applications ?

I believe I went to the steam homepage clicked install and then used the steam linux link to download the .deb and open Ubuntu software center.... steam-l...

I've got the launcher installed or at least it appears under my applications folder now under games and tries to complete the installation any time you launch it. (fails...

Temperature readings

I just got a Pi 2. I am running MATE Ubuntu. I am trying to get a temperature reading on the CPU. The built in monitor doesn't get any sensors and the guides online fail since it returns "VCHI initialization failed". Any suggestions ?

Re: Ubuntu 15.04 / Mate for Raspberry Pi 2

I have also just got mate running on raspberry pi 2 that I just bought locally. Its a good step up from my old revision 2 B board. This kind of what I consider "full" linux os on such a small, relatively cheap board is amazing... However it seems it's using between 30-50 percent on each core simply ...
